Weak components UPDATE
Clasp that couples the paddle to main bar broke on first outing! Ridiculous. Also, you cannot connect two main parts without using a screwdriver to loosen the clasp. Who the hell wants to do that while on a kayak in the deeps?! Very disappointing. These are not cheap items. UPDATE: The company responded quickly and sent a replacement. It's very nice in the water. I must have received a one-off bad item. It's 5 star.

Using for Paddle Board for safety and versatility
Highly recommend having a double blade paddle for your SUP for windy situations, a single blade doesn't cut it. This is an OK paddle, I gave less stars because the mechanism to change from single blade to double blade, which is a nice feature, requires a screw driver, instead of a snapping mechanism, which is stupid. So instead, I take two paddles, a single blade and this one set up as a double paddle, which is a lot to deal with, but ultimately needed for safety and comfort. Also, I need to use sitting down as it's not long enough to use it double bladed from standing position. May as well have got just a kayak paddle. I'm a newbie recreational SUPer who's gone out on lakes, so pretty light use, and for that it's worked fine

Won’t stay locked in place
I was very excited about the paddle and seemed sturdier then ones I have borrowed. However, despite tightening the screws before I left, when I got to the lake and switched pieces to use with standing, the shaft kept sliding down and wouldn’t lock in place. I did not take screw driver with me on water and so couldn’t use paddle unless siting on board and using it as like kayak. It was a long day of sitting, but didn’t want to ruin everyone else’s fun.

The paddles are great but my extra attachment sank and left me stranded.
I am hoping you guys will replace this instead of paying another 50 bucks for something that is suppose to float. The quick connect obviously didn't hold up.

Works well fighting the current upstream
Took this paddle to the test at the Colorado river in Arizona and the only complaint I have is that you might need to bring a Phillips screwdriver with you to keep one of the paddles sides from loosening up where it clamps down. Other than that this thing is pretty decent. If you paddle along the river often this would be a great buy. You can’t even lay on your back and paddle, I think one of the best things about this paddle is that even if you want to stand you can kind of crouch and still paddle like a madman if you can balance.
