Standard compression valve install - no teflon needed
First, this product comes with the copper squeeze ring and the surrounding nut for both the 1/2 connection with the incoming water, and the 3/8th connection towards the faucet. It's essentially the same as the single Brasscraft 1/4 turn valve you'd get from Amazon or Home Depot / Lowes.Second, you don't have to remove the previous compression nut, and can re-use them. Out of all the things that could fail in the connection, the previous nut is definitely not it. What does fail, and the reason you're replacing, is the crappy old style valves that require multiple turns. Mine started dripping at the connection, are impossible to turn, and one even completely fell apart during a shutoff, forcing me to turn off the water main at home. The build quality of this thing is fine. The longest installed one is one year in my home. I've bought several of these and installed over time to replace valves that are gradually starting to fail. For installation: there is no need to use specialty tool to remove the existing compression nut. However, you must tighten the compression nut as hand tight as possible to ensure there is no leak. Hand tighten is all you need. Once your wrench stops moving from typical human pressure, it's probably fine. One gotcha is that you might need 2 large adjustable wrenches to do the job because you need one to hold the valve in place. And these wrenches need to be large because the 1/2 in nut and the valve itself might be too big for most regular sized wrenches. That's it -- good product, good price. If you're gonna buy 3, might as well spend a little bit more to buy this 4 pack.

Excellent quality
The hard part was getting the old shut off valve off the compression ring. I used a specialty tool, but it still was extremely difficult. The compression nut was probably on there for 30 years so it was expected. As for the quality of this part, it looks fantastic, I replaced all of the valves in my house and was very happy with the price and quality.

Used these many times and over years. Wouldn’t go elsewhere for this size.
Don’t mess around with cheap gate valves. Angle Stops are your first defense to stop certain types of expensive floods. For this reason, You want something that is easy and quick to operate, and will still function even after years of not being actuated. This is where ball valves excel and they have been proven to do so for a long time now. This Angle Stop features such ball valves and I have installed dozens. They are made with quality and to a high tolerance. I’ve never had one fail and would never install anything ells in my home or a costumers home.

BrassCraft quarter turn valve works as expected
These are quarter turn valves that work smoothly and were easy to install. No leaks from the compression fitting and since they are shorter than the multi-turn valves that they replaced, did not need as much pipe extending from the wall. The stem is made of plastic but that seems to be the standard now. Would have liked a metal stem but since the valve works so smoothly, the plastic is probably strong enough to hold up.

Brasscraft Quality
You will pay a bit more for this than another cheaper brands on Amazon, but this is a top quality 1/4-Turn shut off valve. I purchased the compression fitting valves for half-inch copper pipe. Highly recommend.
