Good quality, no subscription fee, easy to setup, works with existing mechanical chimes.
Very happy so far. I replaced a traditional push button bell with the S330 and have it hardwired. Being hardwired means there’s constant power and the old mechanical chime works perfectly.Video quality is good. A push of the doorbell button results in an almost immediate response from Amazon Echo and the Eufy Homebase chime, there is zero delay for the mechanical chime. Packages left on the doorstep are highlighted and alerts are sent to your phone, if anyone approaches a package another alert is sent and video is recorded… you can optionally set the doorbell up to play a recorded message to anyone that approaches a package but I haven’t tried that. Lag for sending prerecorded messages is more noticeable but nowhere near as bad as some people have reported. Only real negative is the relatively large size compared to a Ring Doorbell.

Eufy Doorbell S330: Almost-Instant Messenger of the Neighborhood
Daylight Clarity and Night-time InsightMy Eufy Doorbell S330 is like having a keen-eyed detective at the front door during the day. It captures crystal-clear footage, making every visitor look ready for their close-up. As night falls, it transforms into a nocturnal guardian, providing monochrome night vision that's as clear as a North Sea morning. It's like having a personal CCTV, only with better manners.Homebase: The No-Fuss Memory BankThe Homebase feature is a real winner, storing all the footage without the faff of cloud subscriptions. It's like having your own digital archive of 'who's been at the door' – a modern-day visitor log, if you will. It's secure, straightforward, and doesn't ask for a penny more, making it as reliable as your favourite local chippy.A Wee Delay in Doorstep ChatsUsing the Eufy Doorbell S330, I've noticed it's a bit like chatting with someone who's always a tad slow on the uptake. There's a brief (1 or 2) seconds delay when I'm trying to have a natter with the postie or the odd door-to-door salesman, but it's still adequate to get the job done.Battery Life: The Long-Distance RunnerOn the bright side, the battery's more enduring than a North East winter. Lasting about 10 to 12 weeks on our quiet terraced street, it's doing better than most of my New Year's resolutions. It's nice not having to constantly worry about giving it a top-up, especially since our street isn't exactly Piccadilly Circus.Overall: Handy, with a Dash of Patience NeededOverall, this Eufy doorbell's a bit like a trusty old car – reliable with the odd quirk. It keeps a watchful eye over our doorstep, even if it takes its sweet time to let me know who's there. The battery life is a definite plus, making it a steadfast companion for our not-so-busy terraced street. It's not quite instant like a snap of the fingers, but it's dependable enough to give me peace of mind, which in my book, is worth a small wait.

Unbiased review from Ring door bell user
We have been using ring doorbell 2nd gen for the last 2 years and paying approx 4 monthly subscription services and decided to get rid of the subscription. Everything is subscription these days so one less would be good. Right?First impression - The build quality is good. Packaged very well. Comes with a mounting bracket, and screws to install. Has a built-in battery so no need to be hardwired with the power source.Installation - Needs to drill only two holes and installed within minutes. Took me 5 min to set up and pair both the doorbell and Homebase 2. Yes, it comes with home base 2 and not 3. Does not make a difference to me because we don't have any more devices in our house so storage is not an issue.Took 15 min to drill and fix it on the wall.User experience - Other Amazon customers have complained about the delay. Let me clarify this. The doorbell is connected to the home base and eufy cloud services. I will come to that cloud part later. When someone rings the doorbell or it detects motion, the doorbell tries to reach the home base to initiate a session and record the event. If there is a poor wifi signal, then it took extra milliseconds which indeed is the cause of the delay. In the case of the ring doorbell, poor wifi does not affect much because you get notified from ring.com directly which naturally has faster processing than Eufy home base 2. So, if you want quick notification, make sure Eufy Bell gets a good wifi signal and Homebase is connected via ethernet in the same network.Cloud connectivity and privacy concern - It does need eufy account to pait homebase and doorbell. The eufy id is needed to notify on your phone even if you are outside your wifi network. It does not upload any videos to the cloud. When you open the eufy app to watch events, it decrypts the video and plays it on your phone directly from Homebase 2. However, if you want a notification with a thumbnail, then some portion of the video needs to be processed at eufy.com to generate a thumbnail and notify you. The session and data are encrypted so don't worry much. The guys at eufy cannot decrypt because the private keys are stored in Homebase itself. If you worry much, then change the notification to text only in the eufy app.Comparison - The ring doorbell video quality was nothing compared to eufy doorbell. I don't know if it has HD or FHD in the ring but in eufy it is 2k. The picture is crisp and clear. I am very impressed with the video quality and not going back to ring ever. Conclusion – I am very happy with eufy doorbell. Mine was the dual camera with a home base 2 combo package. Cost me 189 but compared to Ring, there is no monthly subscription and far better quality.Thinking of connecting to NVR like sinology or qnap, it will not work because of lack of OVNIFWill update review with some pictures soonUpdate May 4, 2023Now door bell works with homebase 3.
