Works as expected
We bought a house built in 1997 that had 7 pairs of speakers in the ceiling, in 7 different rooms. each room has a volume control knob, but nothing else. We were able to trace the wiring, and use this selector switch to turn on/off selected pairs of speakers without worrying about impedance issues on the stereo amplifier. A far cry from today's WiFi controlled setups, but worked for what was already in place at a reasonable price.

Very Nice Device
The selector is very nice for the price and works very well. I am using it to control garage and outdoor speakers in the yard. I connected a cheap single pair speaker stereo with a fixed wire connection. I cut the wires and connected it to the selector and voila, its now a multi speaker stereo. I figured the sound quality would diminish with more than one speaker selected, but to my surprise there was no degradation to the sound level or quality. It took me a few seconds to figure out that the wire connections into the unit was not as depicted in the instructions. They show a finger plunger however its a screw down compression fitting. No biggie. Anyway, its a very nice quality and I would recommend it to friends.

Works well as intended
My dentist has the (8) channel model in his office. I purchased this (4) channel one based on how well that one works. I use it to control outdoor speakers on our back porch. Works well.

Works great
I bought this for our camper. The cheap stereo/DVD player broke, so I replaced it with a pioneer car head unit. The camper has 3 pairs of speakers, this switch worked perfectly to select one or all 3 zones. The removable connectors made it easier to wire the speakers.

More than meets the eye
Initially, I was disappointed because I didn’t understand the connector clips. Their support was quick to explain (easy). Also, the clips were compatible with my old Russound device so it was a simply plug and play. Great product and support.

Update: destroyed my amp - internal wiring incorrect
Update: DESTROYED my amp! While diagnosing the problem, I found that the "Protecting Circuit Switch" appears to be wired backwards - engaging the switch (pushing it in) LOWERS the impedance, meaning my amp was seeing loads of less than 2 ohms! Leaving the switch off resulted in loads between 4 and 5 ohms. So this switch did the exact opposite of protecting my amp - it introduced an unstable load that killed my 4-ohm capable amp within weeks. Gee, thanks! DO NOT connect any amp to this product without using a multimeter to confirm the final operating impedance of both channels after connecting your speakers and testing the "protect" button in both positions. I would have saved money by just jamming all the speaker wires together and plugging them straight into the amp, because that's exactly what this product does when the "protect" button is on - it literally just connects the speakers in parallel with no protection. You literally had ONE JOB with this product, OSD, and you screwed it up. Now I have to buy a new amp.Original review: This functions for the basic purpose of distributing one stereo amp output to up to six sets of speakers. I appreciate the inclusion of rack ears, since I do have mine rack-mounted. But I would have happily paid $10 more to get it with real binding posts instead of the garbage screw-in attachments they include. They only accept very thin cables (does the company not understand that this product will always used for very long speaker cable runs that benefit from thicker cable?). The attachment points are extremely flimsy, bending concerningly when even gently touched, let alone when you try to turn the screws. And each input/output is mere millimeters from the next, so you need to visually check VERY CAREFULLY for wires touching each other, otherwise you will short out your amp. Come on guys, even the cheapest Chinese amps have better hardware than this these days. You can do so much better. But like I said, ultimately it works as advertised, and once it is set up, you'll probably never touch it again.

Great product, connection terminals are the most secure I’ve ever used
Reading reviews before I bought this, looked like many had trouble with terminals. Before I installed it I carefully picked a screwdriver that fit terminal screws perfectly. It was the middle size philips in a set of precision screwdrivers,I got a piece of scrap wire of the size that I was using, and practiced until I was comfortable doing it. Loosen the screw then use the screwdriver to open clamp. I used 14 gauge wire, once inserted and tightened the terminals are very secure. The switch works perfectly also. Look no further, is the one you want.

Built solid
Waaaaaay better than Pyle switch. It's built pretty solid and nothing beats speaker connections in the rear. Highly recommend
