Callaway Golf Mavrik 22 Driver

Took this to the range today and was ripping drives off the tee. I hit everyone straight but one, out of probably 15 drives. More distance and club felt great swinging it. Replaced an old Wilson driver of 8 years or so, very happy with this decision!

Ok I learned to play golf with irons. For some reason I could not hit a driver off the tee box. So i perfected my iron play. Then one day I can across this Driver a friend was using. I asked if I could try it. I out drove him on the first attempt. I bought this driver and have been using it for two years now. My game has improved because of the distance I get off the tee. It is very forgiving and I am hitting fairways at 73 %.

Replaced my Taylormade R11 that came apart after just three years playing nine holes twice a week. This whole club feels better to me and has so far held up. Looks better than the white top on the Taylormade

Nice balance, generous sweet spot. Fairly forgiving with solid distance. A bit dated now but if you play infrequently like I do (10x per year) it’s worth the money. Only complaint is the sound is not very satisfying. It’s hard to get good auditory feedback on solid contact.

Driver was delivered on time and worked better than expected. Hitting this driver longer and straighter than my previous Taylormade driver which wasn’t what I expected. I was just expecting to use the driver as a stop gap until I was able to get fitted for the newer Taylormade model. I struck gold with this purchase.

I bought this club to replace my Callaway XR as a birthday present to myself. Seemed I had maxed out my distance even though I was hitting it straight consistently and felt I just needed a change. Getting a little older now, I got this club with the Senior/Light flex shaft. I had no expectations. The transition from my XR was seamless as the head design is similar. I was amazed at the difference as my first hit was an incredible 20 yards further and it has been consistent if not more after 4 rounds with this club. It just feels solid on contact with a nice sound. My golf buddies have noticed the improvement as well. I never thought a club could make that much of a difference as nothing else has changed. Looking at getting the 3 wood now with the Senior shaft.

I decided to buy this driver since it was so inexpensive. I'm a scratch golfer and have always used a Titleist Driver. After hitting the Mavrik for a couple of rounds, my new Titleist TSR2 Driver has been put in the closet. I can't believe Amazon sells it for this price.

If your just starting out or have been playing for a few and would like an upgrade this is a great Driver. 9 degree loft so not a lot of height on your shot unless you force it. Low and far for the most part. Adjusting is a breeze with its ability to adjust the club face.
