Great serial console for Raspberry Pi4 running Raspbian Buster
Fast delivery, great price. This is what you need to have a serial console to your Raspberry Pi4 running Raspbian (which saves you from attaching a monitor and keyboard when you can't access the RPI over SSH):1. connect the wires to the GPIO like on the attached picture, no power necessary!USB to TTL-GND -> PI GNDUSB to TTL-TX -> PI RXUSB to TTL-RX -> PI TX2. enable uart in /boot/config.txtenable_uart=13. redirect kernel messages to serial: raspi-config > 5. Interfacing Options > P6 Serial Enable/Disable shell and kernel messages on the serial connection4. reboot Raspberry5. attach USB to TTL Serial Converter to your Mac (or PC)6. download driver from silabs (usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers)7. attach to the serial console with screen (on Mac/Linux, use putty on Windows):$ screen /dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART 115200Done, you'll see *all* boot messages and will get a login prompt once the boot of Raspbian finishes.

Does its job perfectly
A very neat adapter. Case is a bit wide to fit next to other devices when plugged into a hub, but having a case is preferable to a bare board. Only used at 115200 baud so far and no issues encountered. Just plug and go.

Works well with Windows 7 64 Bit
Came with jumpers so I was able to connect to target easily. Windows detected and installed the USB to serial driver without a hitch and added COM18 to the device list. It reconnects to the same port every time I plug it into the USB port so no fishing around finding which Com port it is associated with. Done a lot of program downloads without any buffering errors. Good value for money.

Works well
I had had some occasional uploading problems, when used a FTDI based converter, for Arduino Sketches. With this CPP2102 based device, I was able to upload from the Arduino IDE to devices that had no built-in USB to TTL convertor, and also to naked chips, without any issues. Be aware that this unit only has Rx and Tx signals and the supply (3.3V or 5V). This means having to fudge a reset signal.

1Mbit max serial rate - Not for ACSI2STM debugging out of the box
Hey you, Atari ST user! Are you wondering why your acsi2stm for blue pill is spitting gibberish into your serial monitor when connected to this device? It's because the debug builds of acsi2stm default to a 2Mbit serial rate whereas this device is limited to 1MBit serial transmission only. This is mentioned only on page 3 of the instruction manual...You'll need to download and configure the arduino ide to rebuild acsi2stm from source with a serial speed of a much lower value (e.g. 115200) in order to see output in your serial monitor.

Cheap, Simple & Useful!
Does the job it needs to perfectly,Useful as it has 3v3 and 5v lines, therefore can use on pretty much any project!Comes up as a Generic COM on Windows/Arduino and the built in LEDS are useful for dubugging your connection!

Nicely build
I really like how the serial adaptor has a casing and also pin protectors on it!

Funktioniert hervorragend

This Little Device Is Nothing Short of Amazing
I was at the end of my wits and about to smash my bricked/dead router trying to flash the firmware and reflash it multiple times with no success. Still dead. I attempted just about every possible tip and power-switch reset routines found online. No success at all. Thus guilty of "killing" my router in an attempt to replace the stock firmware with an open-source version, I finally found a back door, a header connector inside the router hidden from view, accessible only after taking the router apart. So I did take it apart. Having found this last hope of hardware revival and the complete instructions to do it, all I needed was a USB-to-TTL adapter to break into the router through this back door.Enter this DSD TECH USB-to-TTL Serial Converter CP2102 picked out of a few I found on Amazon for no other reason that it was USB to TTL.When I received it and plugged it into my Windows 10 notebook, it was not recognized. Quickly, I went to the DST website; found and downloaded the driver, and after installing it in a flash, voila! Windows found it:There it was! Windows Device Manager--> Ports (COM and LPT)-->Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3)Follow the instructions for resuscitating my router. Connected the wires to my router as indicated: GND to GND, Rx to Rx, and Tx to Tx (no need to reverse Rx to Tx and vice versa). With this device, I busted the back door wide open, ran the necessary programs, and there it came!!! My router, through this little adaapter, was talking to me sending to my notebook all kinds of cryptic Linux status messages.Proceeded to flash my router with this device. It took all but a short two minutes to get this done. My router came back from the dead. With my DSD gadget, I now can play with my router and flash any firmware I want. What a relief.DSD, I cannot thank you enough. Your little device saved me a lot of frustration, headaches, and grief. It turned my router from a dead paper weight into a useful, powerful machine. Thank you, thank you, thank you! One of the best $7.99 investments I have made in my life.
