46413 Stuart Turner Monsoon Universal 3.0 Bar Single Pump (Positive or Negative head)

This pump was delivered quickly. It was well packaged and in good order.I needed this pump to power a new high pressure kitchen sink tap, which wouldn't work with the existing low hot water pressure. I knew that I needed a Universal Single Pump for the whole house but I wasn't sure about the pressure. I was going to go for a 2.0 Bar or a 2.5 Bar. I got a pressure gauge and measured my cold pressure which was about 4.0 Bar ( off- peak times), so I got this 3.0 Bar version instead, and I'm very glad I did!! The new tap works fantastic! Washing up is a bit of a nice experience now!Fitting the new pump involved: (A) Rearranging the existing pipe work and (B) Fitting the pump.Rearranging the pipe work involved a bit of plumbing and also ordering and fitting a Stuart Turner Tank Flange (Part No: 27800) which ensured that no air bubbles would get into the new pump from the water cylinder thus ensuring a long life for the pump.Fitting the actual pump was a complete doodle!! ( once all the above pipe work was in place.) Because the pump is fitted with two push-fit connectors, it was simply a matter of pushing the connectors into the inlet and outlet pipes, and then without switching the pump on, running the water through the pump until it was full of water. The pump was then turned on! And it's been running fine ever since!The pump is housed in a small boiler room and just sits on the floor ( you can get special mats for them which are quite expensive so I didn't.) But with the boiler room door shut, the actual pump is not noisy at all. What is a little noisy however, is the water running through the pipes, but this can't be helped really. Also the pump copes very well when two or three taps are being used at the same time. All in all I'm very happy with the pump and looking forward to installing a new shower!

Great bit of kit. Was advised by an experienced plumber who had helped me in the past that Stuart & Turner are among the very best. Used on an 18th century house with old pipes and 3 floors to add pressure to the hole hot water, 2x 1st floor showers, 2nd floor and ground floor kitchens and toilets... pressure is great.. Didn't want to get higher pressure in-case it blew out the pipes... this 3 bar is powerful enough to power 2 showers simultaneously at good pressure. Added on the outlet of the hot water tank. Don't know how old the pipework is in our house but some is certainly older than others... after about 1 year the pressure on this pump caused a leak on a weak joint which caused the pump to run constant... got a plumber out and he wrongly identified it as the pump being faulty, but after some time I identified the leak as could hear water flowing through pipework so added a valve to the pipe and shut the leak off and fixed the leak ourselves. No problems since. The only problem with this pump is it's a bit noisy, but I still have to give it a 5 out of 5.

Great Pump - reasonably quiet and easy to fit - good set of features on it as well to prevent running dry, using singles lets you drive hot and cold separately without problems, and sufficient capacity to run two showers at once Just make sure your hot water tank is properly plumbed using their flange.
