Esbilac goat milk for puppies
This is a great product, but a bit pricy. My main concern is the expiration date is up in two months.

Literally a life-saver
Our Miniature Aussie had a huge litter, 10 pups including the usual runt at 4 oz, and couldn't supply enough milk for them. We tried both the standard Esbilac formula (pre-mixed liquid) and this goat's milk powder, and they by far seemed to prefer the goat's milk. They fought and fussed, often resisting the Esbilac liquid, but took the goat's milk eagerly for the most part.I found it pretty easy to mix up using warm distilled water and a wire whisk (applied somewhat vigorously) to get a mix with no lumps. One note: all of the various baby/pet bottles were a bust for us. For some reason the manufacturers DO NOT PIERCE THE DAMN NIPPLES - maybe because it's almost impossible to do successfully to get them to flow properly. Good luck doing it yourself! They either don't flow or they flood and try to drown the babies. If you want hours of frustration and panic because you can't feed hungry pups (or whatever), go ahead and waste money on the little bottles and (unpierced) rubber nipples. We had all of our success with syringes - tiny 1 cc units when the pups were tiny, then 3cc units, and finally the larger irrigation syringes with the longer, curved tips, which worked great after snipping the tips just a bit shorter. Our little runt is now up to eight pounds and on solid food, and thriving. We lost some of the pups while fighting bad bottles and some other issues, but the rest are happy, healthy, playful pups.

Feeding mama dogs best friend
This was purchased in case we needed to bottle feed our newborn puppies. Thank goodness they're all healthy and strong. Poor hard working mama dog is getting huge benefits from adding this to her bowl of morning milk! What she eats and drinks goes to the nursing puppies, so all is good!

Great for multiple species!
I'm a wildlife rehabilitator and we use this for raising orphans of several species. Unfortunately, the ingredient content of other formulas have caused sickness and, unfortunately, the passing of some species - especially squirrels. Esbilac is the only brand many wildlife rescues use.

Great!
I have a litter of 8 Australian Shepherds, just turned 2 weeks old. Momma’s been great but I just felt she was not producing enough milk, so I purchased this milk replacer to feed between mom once or twice a day to throw in some extra calories. The puppies rave over this milk replacer, so much so they took to the bottles as soon as it was offered. I’m skeptical of all milk replacers as moms milk is the best milk but esbilac I do trust over others, same for petag’s KMR for kittens. I haven’t noticed any upset tummies, the puppies are satisfied if not begging for more and still using the bathroom well. Not all puppies do well on milk replacers but this was a success and I would recommend.

Great for orphaned wildlife - expiration date from this seller too short
First, this seller is happy to send OLD stock. The can I received expires in four months -- which is the same time as a can I received from another seller back in MAY! So I guess the new can will have to go right into my freezer. Very frustrating and very bad business practice. That being said, I used to use this for all my orphaned wildlife (I'm a rehabber for opossums and squirrels) and it was great. The animals thrived on it and I had maybe one case of bloat in all the years I used it. Then Fox Valley came along with species specific formula. Great, right? But I started having bloat with every group. I've gotten really good at managing bloat, but that's not really a good thing. So I've gone back to the Goat's Milk Esbilac for the opossums (presto, no more bloat) and will probably do the same with the squirrels soon. I think the goat's milk is just very gentle on their baby systems.

Life Saver for Orphans
I have used GME for years to supplement my bitches and to start the weaning process. The bitches and puppies really take to it. It is invaluable when a mother's milk does not come in right away and the pups need sustenance. Recently I had to use it for a litter of 4 who did not have a mother to nurse them. We tube fed them for a week and then put them on a bottle. They thrived on GME. The puppy bottles do not work for our West Highland White Terrier puppies. We used preemie human bottles with silicone nipples. They worked great. No hesitation of the pups to latch on and suck. (Look at your bitch's engorged nipples. They are much closer in size to the preemie nipples than to the tiny hard rubber nipples of a pet bottle. )

Saved my baby bunnies
Used this milk replacer to supplement litter of 12 baby rabbits. They are doing well now.
