I'm new to kava, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was cautious the first few times and took less than the recommended dose. I had no effect, good or bad, so I increased the amount. That made a difference, and I did feel a relaxing effect. I don't find the taste that bad, and it can always be mixed with something more pleasant if one doesn't like the strong alcohol flavor.

This is the weakest and most non effective kava tincture I have ever taken. I took over 20 drops and did not feel any effect.

About 10 years ago I used Kava to reduce stress and help with sleep. It didn't work well for me, so I didn't buy it again once the bottle was finished. Now, years later, when the product was offered, I got it and tried it. It seemed to be more effective for relaxation and sleep, perhaps because this one is more concentrated and better made. After getting it though, I did some research on line and found concerning reports about the potential of Kava supplements for causing liver damage. It is imperative for anyone, buying any Kava supplement, to look through the reports of side effects and liver problems. I intend to use it once in a while and sparingly. I am giving it 5 stars, because the supplier is providing a potent product, and whatever the validity of the liver damage side effects is, it has not persuaded the FDA to ban it in the US, although it is banned or controlled in several countries due to this issue.

I wish I could review this product but the bottle arrived shattered with broken glass everywhere. A shame because I was really excited to see how this performed and whether I’d be able to feel a difference.

No numb feeling. The liquid is very clear. Doesn’t seem to be as potent as advertised. Tastes good though.

I've been under a lot of stress recently and was looking for something to help me unwind before bed so I could be relaxed enough to go to sleep. This kava kava seems to help. Glad I tried something new!A few notes: The first couple times I took this, I either had or was about to get a headache. Taking it as directed seemed to immediately give me a headache. I looked it up and this does not seem to be an isolated phenomenon. However, if I took it when my head wasn't already feeling lots of pressure, it didn't give me a headache and instead helped me to relax. Just something to be aware of.Flavor: I find it mild and semi-pleasant, even taken as directed, undiluted under the tongue. I'm not sure why other reviewers found the taste intolerable. But maybe that's just personal preference. It's an herby, minty, slightly sweet flavor mixed with an alcohol base.Preservative: For some reason, this has potassium sorbate included as a preservative. I'm not sure why the alcohol isn't enough. Potassium sorbate isn't something that I'm comfortable with regularly ingesting, although the amount in just a few drops of this tincture is probably pretty tiny. Still, I'd rather they skipped the preservative and just upped the alcohol content if needed.Overall, this is a nice product to aid in relaxation - plus one bottle will last a long time! But I'm sure there's other brands out there without the preservative.

At the time when I ordered this kava kava liquid, I could not see that there is stevia in the ingredients- I cannot consume stevia due to an allergy and would not have chosen this if the ingredients were made clear in the listing.However I have household members that aren't sensitive to kava, and had one try this liquid. The taste is quite strong on kava and very minty, but mixes well into water and a bit of honey and vanilla. Kava does take getting used to even in the tea forms that I've used, and this liquid is very concentrated- I find that a little vanilla extract added to kava helps balance the strong, herbal flavor to make it more palatable.This concentrate gives a gentle relaxing effect and helps my family member get to sleep easier.
