Genuine Briggs and Stratton 594195 Crankcase Gasket Kit

Product exactly what I needed to fix oil leak.

Common issue if you have a oil leak . They leak near the oil filter or starter.Been changing more sump gasket lately

First a word of warning. I had to send the first one back. Open very carefully. The gasket was stuck to the envelope adhesive and ripped. Apparently I'm not the first one to experience this. Be very careful. That said the part fit, the bolts have Locktite on them. Directions stress chasing the threads before installing new bolts. They stress not to use tap but only a thread chaser. Leak is fixed!

Tore the oil leaking intek engine apart and put it back together using this gasket kit and a new seal. Been 4 days and a 3 hrs of mowing and no more more oil leaking. I'm happy.I pondered using a gasket dressing so it would seal better. After doing a bunch of research I decided not to. I did dimple the mating surface where the gasket goes as recommended by people online. I do think that could help keep the gasket in place. I also contemplated eliminating the gasket and using a gasket maker but read that would reduce my crank end play.The gasket was .020 thick and my crank has .021 end play. Not using a gasket could have resulted in my crank end play no longer being enough and causing the crank to bind.In the end, I think this gasket will do the trick and I'll have no more oil leak issues. I am having idle problems now, probably due to the governor being slightly out of adjustment. I'll have to try and fix that next.

There are 10 bolts that hold the crankcase together yet this kit comes with only 9 new bolts. The instructions say not to re-use the old bolts but not which bolt to leave out (this is a joke). I didn't leave a bolt out. I put Loctite on and old bolt and re-used one. I need to mow my lawn I don't have time to wait for a replacement that may or may not have the right amount of bolts in it.

This replacement is improved from original gasket. It is wider in certain spots to prevent blow outs. Comes with new bolts and torque pattern instructions
