My 3 year old son with SPD learned how to remove the door knob locks, so I was desperate to find a new child lock that will keep him from going outside and leaving his room at night. Then I found this product, and it has been a game changer! It was super easy to install, it even includes a video installation tutorial if needed. This has kept him from sloping out of our house, and kept him safe in his room at night. Easy to unlock from the inside OR outside of the door. HIGHLY recommend!

An actual life saver. We use these for my elderly father with dementia. Dementia patients don't tend to look up, so these are perfect to give us a heads up when he's trying to elope in the middle of the night. I like that you can't get locked out since they are accessable from both sides. The caregiver who is home can set the lock for security and then any other caregivers can unlock it from outside to get in without disturbing anyone.

Got this as a secondary way to stop raccoons if exterior French doors do not latch. (Door doesn’t have a deadbolt). This works great to stop raccoons (and children I am sure). Very durable. Looks nice. Gives a good visual indicator that door is “latched”.

Great solution but you’ll definitely need to purchase the rods to reach it and they are overpriced. It’s also scuffing the finish on the door

This thing is freaking amazing. Simple, easy to install, works great, and solves a major childproofing issue.

This product took 3 minutes to install and does what its supposed to. I have large breed dogs that I keep separate at night so that my cats can have free roam of the house. One of the dogs figured out how to work the door knob and I haven't been able to sleep thru the night since. Baby/pet gates, standard knob safety products/measures were no match for him due to his size and I'd be dragged down the hallway regularly trying to stop him in the middle of the night. I should mention that he loves the cats but loves them TOO much and I'm just afraid he will unintentionally hurt them due to his size. This product has solved everything! Just a few minutes of very easy installation with a simple hand drill and it worked like a charm. No more jumping out of bed from a sound sleep as I hear the 120lb German Shepherd slapping at the door knob! This item is made of sturdy metal and isn't an eye-sore since it's installed high up on the frame. Some may not want to drill a hole in their door frame but I'd rather slap a wad of caulk on that hole at the highest point of my door frame later than spend hours trying to WD-40 those pesky sticker adhesives that don't even work off the middle of the actual door which is what you'll be left with with other products. It always amazes me that those adhesives don't hold what you're actually trying to secure but you can't get them off the surface you tried to secure something to! I have two autistic children who are elopement risks. When one bypassed the traditional doorknob cover and made it outside, I was mortified and started looking up solutions. I agonized for days on what to do. A fireman friend recommended these as a possible solution. They make us feel so much more secure! They can be noisy when you open the door (I have an old house with an old door), but a little noise is worth it for the security! My kids can’t reach up high enough to move them and I can operate them from both sides of the door so there is no risk of being locked out! Installation was easy. They also feel sturdy and I believe will last a long time. This is a must for parents of kids with special needs!

As shown in other photos, the placement of where it needs to be installed is poor and cracks the door panel. I measured as shown and then had do another hole because when I tested it the placement was off even though I followed instructions about how to mark the drill spot with the screw. It would be a much better product if the peg was placed further out. I’m sure this will be ripped right out of the door frame in just a matter of time.
