IYV 6 String IYV-ILP-400 Solid Body Electric Guitar Cherry Sunburst, Right, (ILP-400)

This guitar is the tenth IYV I have owned. I currently have five IYV LP copies and this is by far the best. The blue one has really good stock pickups. I have two of the green ones, one of which has been upgraded. I also have the black one. Two of the five were bought used, but all five had no cosmetic issues that I could see. Most of them needed minor setup work such as having the nut filed and the tuners usually seem loose to me and mine haven’t had great tuning stability, but much of this seems like personal preference to me. I like Guyker’s locking tuners so it is just a good excuse for me to change them. This guitar may have the best sounding neck pickup of ANY guitar that I own, but it is certainly the best on any of my LP copies. The bridge pickup is pretty standard for my LP copies, and by that I mean it sounds very good to me. The fret work is totally fine and this guitar was playable right out of the box with no more than a tuning needed. I have zero complaints about this guitar and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again based on my experience with it. IYV is doing a great job of producing fine quality musical instruments at ridiculously affordable prices.

Beautiful guitar. Thin body but has weight. Not P-90 pickups. Returned due to the fact that it didn’t have P-90 pickups as advertised. This guitar was great right out of the box. I have a number of IYV guitars and this was the best one for quality. Regret returning but had many humbucking type guitars already.

Found a finish flaw (Clear Coat) on the neck, need check these before sending out.

I have over 10 IYV guitars now and this is a real beauty and possibly the best so far. Excellent neck and fret work, very low buzz-free action and excellent playability. The comfort cut neck is great feeling and the guitar is overall a beautiful instrument. I don't care for the pickups that come in it, they're too dark sounding for me. I have two other IYV's that had them in them and I replaced them with a set of LYWS alnico 2 pickups from this site, I put the cream colored ones with the 7.4/8.5K impedance in it, they sound killer in this guitar. For a little over $200 it's an absolute steal.

Beautiful guitar, solidly built; it played just ‘fair.’ I tuned the guitar, tightened the truss rod, lowered the bridge and tailpiece, then removed the strings, sanded the frets to where all were level, polished the frets, then applied virgin olive oil to the fretboard, threw on some 42/9 Super Slinkys, readjusted the bridge and wow. I’m playing like Joe Bonamassa now.

I hate to rate this guitar because I really like the other IYV that I bought (IP-350 TBK). That one was very well set up out of the box with no apparent blemishes or any problems whatsoever.This one however came to me with scratches, dings, rusted strings and the intonation is not very close at all. (Rusted strings. Really?). I think it was possibly sold and returned. I mean I paid for a new one.I don’t want to return it because I’m concerned that the next one might be worse.Maybe I had my expectations too high because of all of the reviews that I’ve read and how nice the other one is. Aside from the scratches I can fix it up. I was excited to receive it then I was just disappointed. I planned on getting a couple more of them with confidence. Now I have a level of doubt.I will fix it up and come back with an update and maybe change the rating.I’m pretty sure I just got the guitar that was made on a Friday around the end up the month at quitting time and they were just trying to get home to the cookout.EDIT: it turns out that The neck is perfect. It was set right at the factory. . After changing strings and some adjustments the harmonics are dialed in perfectly. Wiring is good and The pickups sound great. Buffed out the scratches pretty well. It’s a keeper for sure. I am very happy with it now.

The listing said P90 pickups, which is why I bought it, but they are the normal IYV CNC Destiny Wound humbuckers.With that being said, this guitar is awesome. I ordered it in May and received it less than a month later.It’s much thinner and lighter than the ILS-300’s (I have both the Emerald Green and Blue single cuts as well) Very good craftsmanship.No sharp or scratchy frets at all.I opened the guitar, tuned it in less than a minute and started playing. Surprisingly good quality control at this price point.IYV is a great budget guitar brand so if you’re thinking about one, stop thinking and pull the trigger. You won’t be disappointed.
