I am amazed at the number of pockets/compartments this bag has!I bought two, one gray and one navy. They are true to color. One for my husband, one for me. They came on time as the estimated time given.The fact that they are made from recycled plastic bottles is a winner for us. Very lightweight. And should be durable; just look how much a plastic grocery bag can hold.After looking at all the seams and zippers, the sewing/construction appears to be very sound. The straps are cushioned and comfortable on the shoulders. We will be traveling to Europe so I purchased zipper locks for the main compartments, if we carry them in crowded areas; if left in the tour bus with our carry-on, I bought a TSA lock for the main compartment. I know it’s overkill because anyone wanting to grab and run will do just that but it make me and my OCD feel better.I can’t say how water resistant/proof they are yet. But being able to open a backpack like a suitcase will be 110% better than digging to the bottom of a backpack, pulling items out and then trying to put everything back. And I’ll be able to take more because it’s an inch or so smaller than a carryon and will be counted as my personal item. They seem to have a lot of room! And because they are made of plastic, anything spilt on them or dirt from placing them on the floor can be wiped off with a wet towel.

Took this bag on my first trip, a week long two city trip with four segments of flying across three different airlines. Enough travel to get a good sense on the performance of the bag. Overall, the bag worked better than the two other bags it replaced. On my initial outbound flight, I had 2 laptops, two books, a notebook, a half dozen shirts and all sorts of gadgets and toiletries. With the books and the two laptops, the bag definitely felt heavy and my shoulders were a little sore when I arrived. On my next segment, I removed the books and notebook and the weight was just about right for me. I found the rugged handle at the top of the back very handy, and the band on the back of the bag to allow the bag to be secured on a handle rails of a roller bag is also very useful as you don't have to hold the bag while rushing through the airport. The bag fits perfectly under the tightest aisle seat compartment. The bag's main compartment is very roomy, however, keep in mind that the bag has limited padding so fragile items will not be well protected on their own. Overall the bag appears to be well constructed, it proved to be very functional and it is great value for a sub-$30 bag. Recommended.

This bag was perfect as my personal item even on the budget airlines. I fit my small purse, 2 books, and a whole crochet project into this bag. The straps on the sides to compress the whole thing were great! My only upgrade to this bag would be to make the front and back stiffer/more solid so that those straps could compress it more evenly.

This was so close to being the perfect travel backpack for me. I loved that it was lightweight and that the main compartment was laid out like a suitcase. All of the zippered pouches in the front were very useful and the security zippered pouch in the back by the padding would have been great as a theft deterrent for important docs.The main thing that made me return this is that I often travel with a laptop and there was no padded area to store it other than at the back of the main suitcase portion of the pack. It would have to go under all of my clothes and I would have to dig through them in order pull my laptop out while traveling. Other backpacks have a zippered laptop compartment next to the back padding that makes access to the laptop during a flight easy. The zippered area on this backpack in that location is a small storage area meant for easy, more secure access to smaller items.If you don't travel with a laptop or if you have a laptop sleeve that will protect it in one of the front unpadded, zippered pockets, then this might be perfect for you.

This bag is IT! I don’t understand why it’s a frequently returned item because this little bag is amazing for one bag travel.I originally ordered this bag for Breeze Airlines. I typically travel with a rolled 20 inch carry-on and Osprey travel daypack. Fed up with lugging around a suitcase and an additional bag, I challenged myself with one bag and this fit the bill!The bag opens up like a suitcase. I was able to pack 2 pairs of trousers, a skirt, dress, cardigan and several tops. I also had a swimsuit and a pair of shoes as well as my toiletries and tablet. I also had a small first aid kit, handheld fan, robe, flat iron, packable duffle bag, small backpack purse and snacks in this bag.The bag has several zippered pockets and handles to carry like a bag or backpack. It has a top zippered compartment that’s convenient for glasses, phone, keys. I did carry my credit cards and drivers license in a money belt, under my shirt.I plan to use this gem this July for my coastal California railway trip. It’s a great find and has convinced me that one bag travel is the way to go!

Great bag for the discount airlines-Spirit, Frontier and even the basic economy on United. Have flown with it four times now and have not been hassled by gate agent for personal item size. Zippers and fabric are of good quality and the four cinch straps on the sides can be tightened if the bag has to be headed for the sizer at the gate.

Great travel bag! I brought this back to my euro trip and it was the perfect size! It fits perfectly under your seat when flying. I wish it had a compartment for your small device like an Ipad or a small laptop. Overall good buy. get it.

Love all the pockets! Keeps my computer secure and protected during travel. Holds an amazing amount of clothes and organizes all of my items so I know where everything is located. Durable, too! You really can't go wrong with this backpack as a personal item. Fits under the seat and holds all of my travel items at the ready. Great for budget airlines and long weekend travels. I even packed it for a week away and had everything I needed!
