These drives are used AND require low level SCSI formatting
These drives are used, not new. This should be made clear in the product description. The drive that I received also had ~27k power on hours. Also, though they report 512B sector sizes, an additional 8B per sector is reserved, reducing the overall drive capacity. To match regular 12TB drive sizes, they must be reformatted using sg_format. I am trying 4096B logical sectors now. We shall see in 12_ hours if the reformatting works.

refurb drive, needs formatting before use (520B blocks)
The drives work fine, but be aware they are used. SMART is reporting 27,5xx power on hours. Also, the drives are formatted with T10-DIF formatting, resulting in 520k block sizes. It has to be reformatted with the sg_format command back to 512B block sizes to use. Not a problem, but a process that has to be done.EDIT: These were a good deal at $166. $240, not so much.
