I ordered thisNew External CD DVD Drive, Cool DVD Burner USB 3.0 with Ethernet Adapter, 3 USB and 2 TF/SD Card Ports, CD DVD Player Reader Writer Optical Disc Drive for Laptop PC Windows Mac with Carrying Case. Very nice External CD DVD drive. When I bought it, I didn’t have my lap top yet, which wasn’t a problem. I looked the product over to make sure that it hadn’t been miss handled. I found no problem at all, the packaging was, be on good I was very pleased. I put the CD drive back into its case and back into it box and put it away until my laptop came in. Once the laptop came in I started getting all my photos together in folders so I could move them off my laptop on to CD’s, that’s when I found that the IN/OUT button didn’t work. I would have to take a small push pin to open the CD disk. I thought it was just me, but it wasn’t. You would have to use the push pin whenever you wanted to get the door open.The window was closed on March 8, 2025, to return and I understand I’m way past that date. But I was wondering if there was a way to return to get it fixed, I really can’t use it the way it is but I am willing to, if the price was right send it back to get it repaired.

I don't like being pushed to write reviews before I have really had a chance to use the item much. So for using it once, it does what it says it will do. The through-port USBs all help expand the accessories on our desktop (we run a wireless laptop/mouse combo dongle, 2 remote ring clickers (dongles), charging cable for clickers, charging cable for tablet that runs our digital soundboard, and the external DVD player. With the front USB access for the thumb drive to bring in PowerPoints). Essentially this is a USB extension dock with a built in CD/DVD player/writer. Docked 1 star because it doesn't handle a USB extension cable and the built-in cable is ridiculously short -- especially since there is a USB-C tail that is configured in such a way as to not sit flat. Lucky to have it sit on top of our desktop and reach the USB ports on the back. Plus, it covers the fan vent holes when we do it. Could be thought out a lotta bit different there. Otherwise, good value for the money.

Unit arrived promptly and in great condition. Instructions referenced software app the needed to be downloaded and with that software the DVD played and converted / transferred a file I could upload to YouTube with ease.Works GREAT.
