Comfortable for any outing
Ordered these shoes for a trip to North Africa. They are comfortable and roomy for my feet. The shoes worked well if I was walking in a city market or out in the desert sands. They look great too. I highly recommend a pair. And lots of colors to choose from too.

Like a glove!
As a disc golfer, I was always trying to find a good pair of shoes with great traction and comfortable. Having size 13 extra wide feet, not an easy task. Friend of mine recommended Altras as they have a wide toe box. Got a pair of Lone Peak 7s a couple years ago and found that 12.5 wide is the perfect fit. The zero drop took a little getting used too but I must say, THE best pair of shoes I have ever had.Sadly, after 2 years of casual use, I was due for a new pair. I actually bought Lone Peak 9s but in 13 wide as that was all I could find. While nice, they were just a bit too long. Took them back and ordered these Lone Peak 8s in 12.5 wide."Like a glove!"The new best shoes I have ever worn for throwing some discs.Great traction, great color and very comfortable! The price is worth it!

Amazingly comfortable shoes for foot pain.
These are the greatest athletic shoes; they are worth every penny. I suffer with plantar fasciitis, and these shoes have given me a lot more comfort than any other pair I own. They are very durable, lightweight , and the toe box is nice and wide. Order the yellow color if you want compliments.

My Go To for Backpacking
I give 5 stars to products that meet or exceed my expectations. These do. I bought them on a Friday and the following day went for a 3 night backpack of the TCT on Catalina. This is a ridge following trail with lots of rock and ups and downs. These trail shoes performed extremely well. They are very close to zero drop, but not quite. They breath well, have excellent grip uphill and downhill. I usually take a 12 in trail shoes but ordered a 12.5 because I owned the original Lone Peaks which proved too short in my regular size. The reason: I have a Morton toe (longer middle toe than the rest). If you are looking for shoes with a broad toe box that lets your toes spread out, this is the pair. If you are looking for some volume above you toes, this is the pair. If you are looking for a shoe with a soft but tight fitting heel counter, this the pair. Very Lightweight. Great Backpacking trail shoes.

Perfect Blend of Comfort and Performance
I recently upgraded to the ALTRA Men's Lone Peak 8 Trail Running Shoes, and they’ve quickly become my go-to pair for hitting the trails. One of the standout features is the exceptionally wide toe box. This design allows my toes to splay naturally, providing enhanced balance and reducing pressure during long runs. It’s a small detail that makes a huge difference in overall comfort, especially on uneven terrain.Another major plus is how lightweight these shoes are. The minimal weight helps me maintain speed and agility without feeling bogged down, which is essential for those fast-paced trail runs. Despite their light feel, they still offer robust support and protection, making them ideal for both rugged trails and everyday runs.Overall, the Lone Peak 8 delivers on every level—comfort, performance, and durability. Whether you're a seasoned trail runner or just getting started, these shoes are a fantastic investment for an improved running experience. Highly recommended!

Great shoe. Toe rubs through over time.
I stumbled across these shoes a couple years back while in colorado on vacation and this has been the only she I've worn since. (Lone peak) series. The shoe fits greatbi love the wide toe box. The only thing that makes me get a new shoe prior to the tread running out is my big toe usually rubbing a whole above it through the shoe. I have had my last 3 pairs do this. But that's all I can say against this shoe. I will still continue to wear these shoes. My suggestion is if you find one you like buy 2 pairs cause they make new models often of the lone peak and you may like the previous pairs. I personally like the 5 and 7 models. Hope this helps.

Love Altra
These are great hiking shoes and I use them when landscaping around the yard. Helps minimize my Morton's neuroma numbness and pain since it has a large toe box. True to size fit. Nothing bad about the lone Peak 8 shoe model. The only thing that's bad about the company (Altra) is they run out of shoes fast (especially my size 14). I learned my lesson with the Escalante 4's (also a great shoe model) when I bought them to try them out and then loved them... but when I went back to purchase another pair the Escalante's they were all out of my size. So what did I do when I read the favorable views on the Lone Peak 8? I bought 2 pairs in my size without waiting to try them out. Once again, great comfort with that larger toe box for my aging 45 year feet. I only wish I had ordered a third pair to get me through the year before the lone peak 9's come out since I'm pretty rough with the wear and tear I put on my shoes (and body for that matter)... when I went back online to order them a couple months later, they were sold out in my size... again, lol!If you haven't looked at trying Altra, I'd give them a chance and make a run at them.... pun intended. They're great for folks on their feet all day like folks working in a hospitality/restaurant job, hospital, packaging/parcel job, etc.... and off course running, walking and hiking.
