Excellent design...
I put these at the apex of the roof. Screw them through the deck boards to the truss, then put the ridge board on top. Hide them under a tile, but I put a red plus sight on the tile so I know which one.If you have a two story house, this is not a recommendation, it is a requirement.

Worked for me.
Bought and installed (4) of these for my new garage roof. They appear to be made of stainless steel. Also believe to be made in China, so I don't know if the steel will eventually corrode. They look good after one month of weather exposure though.

Good quality bracket!
This bracket is great quality and easy to install. It worked excellently for securing a roof tie to the roof.

Can’t put a price on safety
I like to keep a couple of these in the truck. Just the other day I was on a job where we were installing roof trusses and there was no easy tie off point. Went to the truck and grabbed one of these and installed it in no time(I like to use structural screws instead of the provided nails so it can be moved and reused easily). Not only is it safer to tie into one of these, it makes jobs go faster when you can be confident in your safety.

Stainless steel plate with galvanized steel D rings
So my primary concern with this roof anchor is that for permanent attachment where you aren't planning on removing it, the galvanized D-rings on this style of anchor are known in the industry for rusting over time. Especially if there are scratches in the coating from use. The quality of it seems quite decent but for 20 or 30 years on a roof it would be better if the D-rings were also made of the same stainless steel as the anchor plate. Finding a suitable location for it can also be difficult where there are long attic ridge vents that interfere with the desirable locations for installation. I personally would use this as a temporary strap but I don't think it will hold up to being a permanent fixture in a wet climate.

Everyone Should Have These Installed Permanently On Their Roof
If you own your home, eventually you’ll have a reason to climb up on your roof to repair or maintain something, and when you do, you’ll want to do so safely. I don’t know why it isn’t code to just install these inexpensive safety anchors on all roofs (that would be nice!), but most handy people can follow simple instructions found on YouTube to retrofit these anchors permanently on their roof. This kit contains everything you need to install this other than the tools. Watch the videos online a few times before you go up to install this, and take everything you need on the first trip.PRO TIPS: install this on a warm day so you don’t accidentally crack or break your roof tiles. Be sure to seal every nail hole well — a little extra caulk/patch won’t hurt, and nobody will see it if it’s a little sloppy. Be sure to wear clothes you don’t care about — you won’t ever get roof patch out of your clothes again.Having these safety anchors installed will make it easy and safe to work on your roof in the future using a harness and rope (that kit is sold separately on Amazon).

Solid construction
This anchor is a beast. The body is milled from a solid block of aluminum, and the hardware appears to be of good quality. The only downside of this type of anchor is they can scratch the paint on the roof pan seam.

YES!
The highest rated version of these brackets sneakily changed their design. I had ordered that originally, then found the change and sent it back. I stumbled upon this and it seemed to fit the bill, so I ordered it. I was super pleased to see that they made this in the best way. The ends that form the loop around the rings are actually flat on one side, so they sit flat against the roof! So much easier to seal up that way. This version does not come with any kind of sealant though, so you will need your own. Thats a few bucks at the home improvement store though. Highly recommend this!
