Bald Eagle Challenging
I’ve done well over 20 Metal Earth kits. The bald eagle is definitely challenging. The claws took hours to do. Some pieces broke trying to put them together. Instructions could be better. For instance when building the claws, you make the bottom of the foot first….that was confusing to me until I read someone’s post about it. I’m currently working on the wings. Hoping the rest of the build will go well. Also, when pieces break you just have to be innovative when that happens. I use Gorilla glue or carbon fiber tape to hold pieces together.Highly recommend having a free standing magnifying glass with light to build models.

Metal is way to small and difficult
Size is way smaller!! It is extremely difficult to get thw tiny pieces out of the sheet metal print without damaging the pieces you'll need to assemble. I would never buy this again.

small parts hard to manipulate and break
15-year-old son who loves to build found the pieces especially hard to use - the small flaps were smaller than those of the x-wing and too small to manipulate. He said it took over an hour to do one claw and it broke.

Not for people with limited close-up eyesight.
I bought this to help me prepare for a larger model given to me for Father’s Day. My close-up eyesight is not great, and I use 2.5X reading glasses to help me see. I completely screwed up this model, mostly because some parts on the pieces are tiny and very hard for me to see, and because some of the pieces are very delicate and easily bend. Additionally, the parts are easily scratched when using the tools needed for construction, which were purchased separately. I’m not saying it’s the manufacturer’s fault; I am saying that you need to be aware of your own limitations and really think through whether or not to purchase one of these model kits. They’re not for beginners. BTW, I totally messed up the harder model as well. If you make a mistake putting together the pieces, you might as well throw it in the trash because it’s very hard to undo the mistake. It’s just not for me.
