Well-written profound exploration of financial data engineering: its challenges and solutions.
I bought this book because I wanted to specialize in designing and building secure, reliable, and scalable data infrastructure for the finance industry. I have so far read the first five chapters, and here are my thoughts. The book is well-written and detailed for a person like me who is just getting to know the finance space. The author also gives additional information/ resources for further reading in the event you want to learn more about a particular topic.Without diving into much information, the author really understands the challenges of the financial industry, like entity recognition, financial identifies, and governance issues. Additionally, he also lays out various solutions that can be implemented to mitigate such challenges.Among the things I really liked about this book, is the hands-on projects the Tamer included towards the end. I skimmed through this part and noticed that the project is related to what he teaches in the book. This is a great book for someone who wants to know more about data engineering in the finance space because financial data is handled differently compared to other industries.

Data engineering in Finance
I had an opportunity to read this book and found it to explore "why" having financial domain knowledge is important when developing, supporting and maintaining financial systems:* Regulatory requirements (Public institutions and governmental agencies)* Financial data governance - with a section covering possible ways to address "financial data outliers"Having an understanding of the domain which technology is being developed for helps reduce misunderstandings between business and technology organizations (you have probably heard it before, "we built exactly what you asked for" - better understanding leads to better processes).
