It initially came in slightly damaged and the plastic wrap was ripped. But I processed a return and was sent another set in perfect condition.

Bought as a birthday gift for my 8 year old granddaughter. She is reading them every night before bed!

I purchased this series for my 10 year old son and he absolutely loves it!

My 9 year old daughter comes back to these books again and again. Maisie is great heroine - resourceful and clever. The supporting cast of characters are colorful and create an intriguing "slice of life" across the classes in Victorian England. The illustrations are charming and help to fill in visual gaps for the aspects children might not be familiar with. This series, paired with Zoe & Sassafras and Magic Tree House, are staples to my daughter's personal library!

Excellent 8 book middle grade series.Most of the mysteries were interesting and showcased Maisie's ingenuity and puzzle solving abilities. My only complaint really with the series is that it's only 8 books. She's a great character and it would be fun to see what her life would be like after the events of The Case of the Weeping Mermaid.Recommended.
