POWEROWL 12 Bay AA AAA Battery Charger, USB High-Speed Charging, Independent Slot, for Ni-MH Ni-CD Rechargeable Batteries

A bit of backstory first. Many, many years ago, before 2010, I had a 4-port Energizer AA/AAA battery charger that charged fully and quickly. It was the best charger I ever owned. Many years later, when I needed to replace it, I tried about 4 new chargers. No other charger, even Energizer brand models, worked as well as that excellent original did. I got a 8-port, 3rd party charger that I liked at first (my review is here on Amazon), but it fell apart in a very short period of time. My Energizer and Duracell batteries started going bad as well, not holding charges, nor charging at all. Then I bought this little gem of a charger by Powerbowl, along with a huge set of 24 Powerbowl AA batteries. Well, Energizer, you lose, because Powerbowl is the new Battery and Battery Charger King.Both the Energizer, Duracell and Powerbowl batteries charge VERY FAST in this charger. There is a moderate amount of time difference in the charging of each brand, but that is expected. I saw no more than 30 minutes to 1 hour in the difference of charging time of each brand. I was told to never charge batteries of different brands or sizes together, so I didn't do that. The Energizer and Duracell batteries I had that were not keeping a charge were damaged, but I didn't know which ones they were. This fantastic little device made it clear on which ones were busted, almost right from the start. I wouldn't say that it repaired the batteries, as there is no switch to make it repair the damaged batteries, but it did alert me on which ones were no longer usable, so I just tossed them out. I put 12 batteries in it and let them charge. After a few hours, I looked at the lights to see if they were charged. When the lights were mostly green, but there were a few flashing red lights, I knew which ones were bad, so I tossed them out. I was so happy that I was finally sorting through all the batteries I knew were going bad, but currently couldn't identify. It was so helpful.The design is attractive, compact, and it charges a lot of batteries at the same time. It's so quick, that I was able to charge all of my 24 new Powerbowl AA batteries, and all of my 43 working Energizer and Duracell batteries, plus the other 19 broken batteries that had to be scanned and discarded. That's 86 batteries in total, but 67 that were actually charged. All this was in a 12-port charger, which is 7 full decks plus 2 remaining batteries, so in total, 8 charging periods, each about 2 - 3 hours long. I accomplished all of this within a 18 hour period in one day, from 6:00 am to midnight. Unbelievable!This charger is a really great price for what you get, especially for the extra feature of checking the busted batteries. Definitely worth the investment. The Powerbowl batteries (sold separately) are also truly awesome, and last longer than Energizer or Duracell, so I recommend those too.

Love this! Just charged all my rechargeable batteries, easy peasy. It does take a while, but this charger was definitely better than the EBL one, and this one shows if you have a bad battery that can't be used.

Perfect for what I needed.

I was looking for a battery charger allowing me to see the charge status of the batteries. This handles my many battery needs and provides great visual status.

Works as expected, charges in about 1 to 2 hours

Value for the money. I like that it charges AA and AAA batteries.
