Q: Does it work work on concealed carry version?

The Crimson Trace LG-442 does NOT fit the Concealed Carry of the Bersa Thunder. See the Crimson Trace website and check the Fit Notes on the LG-442 page. It says, "Fits Bersa Thunder .380 Series and Firestorm .380 except Concealed Carry".

Q: Does the laser turn off so that you can grip the gun normally without activating the laser?

No - at least not that I have found. The switch is located near the center of the front area of the grip. It actually wraps from side to side. Anytime you apply pressure to this area the laser will activate. It is located so that when I grip the pistol, I automatically activate the laser. I suppose you could hold the gun so that you do not apply pressure to this area, but probably not very natural. Other than that, I love this laser. I took off the old grips stuck on the new grips and installed the two grip screws. That was it. The laser was perfectly aligned with my sights. I was very impressed. Very easy to activate, but it does not activate when in any of my holsters. Works great if you always want the laser.
