A safe, compliant fuse.
This test is for the 3amp 'Nartel' fuses. You receive 10 in a packet. The fuses you receive are printed as being made by 'Sumwaba'. (Photo)This review is not to decide as to whether having a different name is a problem. This review is purely to determine as to whether the fuses are safe, and conform to BS1362.The legal requirement for all fuses sold in the UK.This test is only applicable to fuses marked as being manufactured by Sumwaba.First test is length. They should be 25.4mm long, +0.8/-0.4mm.The shortest fuse measured 25.348mm, they are all well within specification. (Photo).Next we will check to see that the ends are 'substantially flat'.As you can see in the Photo, these fuses have the customary Chinese dimple.I'd rather it wasn't quite so prominent, but to me, still passes as being compliant.Lastly, we will break one open to perform an internal check. As can be seen in the Photo, they are filled with a containment substrate, in this case a standard silicate sand. It is there, to contain the 'explosion' of a current overload and is acceptable. The fuse wire in these fuses is correctly sized for 3amps.On a ramping load test it failed at 6 amps, well within the range that I was expecting. The wire is correctly soldered to the centre of each end cap. In many non-compliant fuses, you will find that the fuse wire is folded over and the end cap simply pushed on.In conclusion, I can confirm that these fuses do meet the requirements for BS1362 and are, in my opinion, safe for their intended use.Be aware, you will not receive Nartel branded fuses. If that is an issue for you, then you need to look elsewhere.I hope you found this review helpful.

Handy sized pack
Moved house and bought some new table lamps which came with plugs already fitted but it turned out there were no fuses in the plugs! The local DIY store only sold fuses in large assorted multipacks and I didn't want to buy & store fuses I may never use, even if they don't take up that much room in a drawer.A packet containing x 10 3A fuses helped bring light into my life without leaving me with a large quantity of unused fuses to store "just in case" .

Doing the job so far!
These had Vernons written on them not Nartel? However, they work, they're cheap and the delivery was quick so I'm satisfied!
