Very good
I loves these having a autistic son hair cuts was anit of a nightmare so with these it took the sound away which he didn’t like so now with no sound and all the different lengths and much safer when using scissors as there is no pointy sharp parts quality is nice and solid. Is it expensive YES is it worth it YES

Autistic child
So happy I went and ordered this product my son always hated getting his hair cut and it got so much worse with age (7/8) ended up with 3 of us having to hold him down at the kids haircut place we went to I’ve been trying everything silent razers (that are never silent) songs and images letting him know where we are going beforehand nothing worked and it just got so bad I couldn’t do it anymore. I finally saw this product and was a bit sceptical to begin with and also the price made me think just because i bought stuff previously and it never worked. This product has completely changed the experience for us I use it in the shower with him so the hair can be washed off him straight away and because I’m not a professional barbers the different attachments are so helpful so I don’t scalp him! I’m still in the learning phase with him and haven’t moved from a blade five attachment because I’m building trust with him before trying different blades for different sections and we are working on getting by his ears and the back of his head slowly I’m not saying he likes it but we count to sixty and I get as much done in that time as I possibly can once a week and he can tolerate it a lot more then the hairdresser setting I will never bring him back to a barbershop again and put him through that distress and trauma.

Work well
I've given these a quick whirl and they do work well. The only issue is the fact the combs are quite brittle and we can't use the number 2 comb as it arrived broken and bent.

100% satisfied. and im confident i can help improve next time too
Hello everyone.I have been watching these things for a long while now. My son has undiagnosed SPD issues and getting his hair cut, along with many other things was pure hell. i stopped taking him to the hairdressers ( in in UK) and we had someone come to the house. it was a sucess but shes not available now... after months of getting longer and scruffy i had to try... i bought these on a next day delivery with free trial of amazon prime. so ordered and picked up next day.I used a visual timetable ( pec card) to tell him we were going to playgroup and when we got home we would do haircut. He was ok with this it seemed. We cam home and i showed him all the pieces and explained what they did. At first he wanted to wear his star wars mask so no heair went in his eyes, but that didnt really work he couldn't see his ipad. so i gave him a warm drink in a sippy cup so he could lift his head back and i could snip and pull hair away to the floor without going across his face.I used a size 3 at the back and then my plan was to do longer on top. but i truthfully was very nervous so i lifted pieces up on top and just kept the hair on a level 3.One thing that i dont like are the instructions are VERY minimal. i know its easier and it takes practice, but i couldnt get my head around how to "use short upward cuts" - or what ever it is,. he had long sideburns of hair, which i told him i would hold his ear down while i did that , i took the guard off and with nanny holding his ear, ipad on loud , managed to snip around the ears,, then i put on a size 2 cover and then randomly sipped around where it looked like it needed blending. One thing i wasn't sure about was how to hold the guard against the head, flat, angled? it doesn't say so as long as you do it the same all the time it will cut the same length.I did though have to use some thinning scissors around the crown as i was too frightened that i would cut it too short..I think i was so nervous i actually dont think i took a breath the whole hour,, yet he sat there happily. the only time he wince or cried was when i was doing the ears..The only other thing i would say is that the apron needs to be rethought. as it is for sensory kids.. its a very crinkly and very noisy apron.. it is the thing he most disliked about the whole experience.

Early days with using this product
Have a 17 year son with Down syndrome and severe autism and he hates his hair being cut, he's had a rotten haircut for years as I'm rubbish at it! I have to cut his hair in the bath and he doesn't stay still, fussing and getting his hands in the way and messing up his hair every time I cut it so I can't see what it looks like. I've been using a thinning comb and them trimming the edges - if he lets me. The first problem for me was you have the use the clippers from one side, due to the design, and unfortunately it's the opposite side from where I'm standing at the side of the bath, did a few awkward cuts upside down then resorted to the thinning comb, then my son turned sideways in the bath so he was sitting facing me which made it easier to use the clippers, still had to cut sort of upside down though. As yet haven't developed a technique, as such, with them but his hair is shorter and he was ok with letting me do it, the scissors were nice and sharp and used the no 6 comb. So far, so good.

Amazing!
I have just finished cutting my son's hair for the first time using the Calming Clippers and I can't believe how user friendly and easy it was.Our 9 year old boy grew petrified of having his hair cut at the barbers- whether it was with the machine or the scissors. The whole event was becoming traumatic for him. As he is pre verbal autistic he expressed his upset through hitting himself, screaming and lashing out at others.BUT NOT TODAY!!!!! Calming Clippers- this is some kind of wizardry. I can't thank you enough. Amazing product. And then I watched your video on how the product is made and oh my goodness- I am so moved. Thank you!Dervla,A very happy mother!!

I was not lucky
The media could not be loaded. I bought these because I was very excited for my autistic son, but the first time I used them, when I changed the comb, they came loose from the solder. Any advice on how to fix the scissors?
