Jake & Amos J&A Sweet & Sour Chow Chow 32oz

Use as a side dish very sweet on the sour side ill say 20%.

This is a Pennsylvania German delicious vegetable sweet pickled salad. Green beans, wax beans, sm. Limas, cauliflower, red kidney beans, zucchini slices, pimento pieces, and corn is a sweet vinegar spice brine. Called ChowChow growing up.. there is an a Italian variety that is made that is sour/ heat, as this slightly sweet/ tart as bread and butter pickles would taste. Very good, and happy to have found it. Fermented foods are very good for digestion, and help to add probiotics to your meal. Similar to 7 bean salad in taste.

Tasty and pleasant to eat. Nice texture. The legumes and veggies are suitably sized to eat with a spoon or fork, no need to cut them up. I eat it by itself but it would also be good as a topping or mixed in to other dishes, like maybe in a rice bowl or something. However, it had more added sugar than I expected. Disappointing as that makes it less healthy, and I don't think this level of sweetness really makes it more enjoyable than a more savory or spicy version would be.

This is a very good chow chow and is more sweet than sour. It is great with a lot of different meats and cheeses. I love it very much with cheese & crackers snacks.
