Good project.
A great project for my grandson and myself

Lots of Little Pieces
My dad is a retired mechanic, we got this as a funny Christmas gift for him. Took him about five hours & he actually enjoyed it. Lights up & all the parts moved correctly. He got a kick out of it being a “perfect engine”. Would definitely buy for any older kids (maybe 10+) interested in machines.

It's a decent cheap model kit, and that's about it.
Ive read reviews and they pretty much mention things about how the parts dont fit or theres a cracking noise, and I fixed this by just switching the timing belt from the right to the left side of the belt roller, and making the fan belt inside out so the ridges are facing out. After you've done this it should run a lot smoother, there might be one or 2 crack noises every once and a while but itll be better than the entire engine stuttering and making a lot of cracking noises.

The more you get into it, the more you appreciate the meticulous designing that went into the parts, which are great quality. Just be sure you follow the instructions exactly step by step including noting how the engine is positioned for each next step--it varies. Take your time on the valve train, easier than it first looks.I have 3 suggestions for the makers:- Magnetize the screwdriver more strongly to help start deep-set screws.- Provide a way to neaten the dangling spark plug wires after assembly.- Put an on/off switch on the battery box so you don't have to plug in and unplug to run it.

Missing thread taps
I bought this for my stepson, but he gave up so I took up the project myself. I’m missing the threading taps where the screws are supposed to go on the clutch side. The clutch housing has no where to screw onto. The other fan side has extra screw taps- but the pulleys would not have spots if the sides were swapped. I’m confused.Other nitpicky stuff is step 17 forgets to tell you you need 2x screws for the fan (simple enough to figure out if you’ve gotten thus far, but again, instructions are supposed to instruct…)Will be continuing my build without the clutch housing, and I’m keen to see how it all works…Building it was rather enjoyable otherwise.
