Disappointing - If this is mom's apple pie, SEND IT BACK.
Come on Motive, get your act together! I'm happy to pay good money for GOOD American-made products, and I've purchased three Motive products to date. I love your brake power bleeder, and I use your fluid transfer pump, which comes in very handy for transfer case and differential fillings. But this Power Extractor? I think maybe someone was tokin' on the ganja during the design phase. Leaving out nitpicky items there are 2 major DESIGN DEFECTS with this product.1. The Power Extractor COLLAPSES during use. I've used this product for two power steering flushes. Pumping the extractor down to a mere negative 10PSI collapses this thing like a beer can that Bubba just discarded. The bottle is not simply not of a heavy enough gauge plastic, or simply not otherwise designed to withstand even a modest amount of vacuum. WTF dudes?2. Plastic pinch valve??? When you use this extractor you need to be able to regulate the suction of fluids. For example, when I extract the power steering fluid from the rack I need to regulate the amount of fluid extracted so I can keep my reservoir from running dry (prevents air from entering the system). And to do this you give me a ten-cent plastic pinch valve that does NOT seal, and that extremely difficult to use? The pinch valve is WORTHLESS and makes your product look like something purchased on some "deals of the week" website. To have a prayer of even using this product, the first thing I did was to get rid of the pinch valve and install a standard plumbing shutoff valve. Want a really good suggestion: Charge the extra $5 and sell this product with a shutoff valve that actually works? Instead of simply offering a real shutoff valve as an option, why not make it standard and offer the pinch valve as a discount option for those who enjoy hitting themselves in the head with a hammer? If you make a good American-made product I'm right there looking to do business with you. Break me off a slice of that mom's apple pie! When I tried your power brake bleeder I thought "those boys from Gilroy are the real deal!" They are the ones who can really build that better mousetrap! But not this one guys. The mice are running all over the kitchen.
