Although the installation instructions were pretty clear, I did have an issue after it was completed. (key wouldn't release from the lock). The Tech Support team (Matt & Co) were very responsive and after I partially disassembled the lock and sent some images, they figured out the problem very quickly and helped me get it resolved. The lock is now installed and working fine.

This is our 3rd one of these for an outside exposed door. These last approximately 2 years due to weather and use.

I installed this keyless lever set on the door to a little coin laundry that serves a small apartment complex. It lets me control the time, so folks won't use the laundry in the middle of the night when it would disturb the quiet enjoyment of the folks who live next door. So far, so good, but we'll see in the long run if it holds up and if customers find ways to defeat it. It was simple to install, and not too complicated to program. It's supposed to hold up in the rain and the weather and it will need to where I installed it. At about $250, the price seems good. I see the same or similar keyless lock sets out there selling for $400.Update in 2018. The first of these, installed in 2013, failed in 2016. It would not open via the codes anymore. A year prior to the failure, the numbers had disappeared from the keypad due to weather. I replaced it in 2016 and the replacement failed during a rain storm early in 2018. Unless you plan to buy a new one every 2 or 3 years, find something else.

I purchased the LockState LS-1500-SN Heavy-Duty Electronic Keyless Lock on September 26, 2013. I *love* this lock and have been very happy with the exceptional customer service I've received from Lockstate.This attractive lock was installed on an external gate shared by myself and two apartment tenants where it was continuously exposed to Texas sun, wind and rain and worked flawlessly...It worked flawlessly for about two years until we had a period of record rainfall, a true inundation almost daily for almost a month. That is when the keyless entry pad stopped working. It probably wasn't designed to work underwater.I believe that if my locksmith had done a much better job of installing the lock that it wouldn't have become watterlogged. It would have helped, also, if my locksmith, knowing the conditions of installation, had caulked the area where the lock was mounted to the gate. I'm also sorry to report, as others have, that the keypad label came off at that time.Although the lock continued to work with the key, the keyless entry was a feature I highlighted in marketing the security of my apartments and was very useful for controlling access in a number of ways.So I contacted Locksmith Customer Service. Although the lock was out of warranty, they immediately shipped me a replacement keypad section for a nominal charge. When that didn't completely resolve the problem, they worked with me until I was completely satisfied, promptly shipping me the necessary parts, without further chage, until the lock worked perfectly.In the meantime, because I think it is a good idea and protects my investment from the harsh Texas weather extremes, I added Lexan covers over the lock on both sides of the gate. Even though the lock is advertised as "Durable commercial-grade lock with weatherproof keypad," I recommend investing in a cover if it is going to be installed without protection from the elements.I highly recommend this well-made product, and especially commend Lockstate's customer service.

I Purchased two of this product in July 2013. One stop working in 2014 within a year. The unit stopped locking the door. No way to lock door if lock malfunctions. After reading review that they only send replacement parts for broken item I decided not to call because we need a working unit for the office. For the price it should last longer thank one year.

This lock is awesome. It has all the features I need. I installed it on the door leading to the laundry room which is shared by other tenants. At first the laundry room was open access but the tenant's teens were not obeying the hours of operation. Who wants to hear gym shoes banging in the dryer at 1 a.m. With this lock, the door now auto locks and unlocks at a set time each day. So if they forget to take out they laundry by closing too bad. Their clothes will have to set till the door unlocks the next day. After the door locks, I can still access the room at anytime by using a code that will unlock the door to let me in then the door autolocks itself back - so cool. The lock is heavy and sturdy. No cheap plastic here.The installation instructions could have been better in identifying what screws to use where. When I finished the installation, I had more than half the screws left. For this reason, I rate it 4 stars and not 5.

iButton locks are the best keyless entry available I have found. We have several but on one door (that experiences a lot of traffic) the handle breaks every 18 months. We are on our 4th iButton lock for that location and still using original locks at the other locations. Its like the springs that hold the handle upright wear out and then the pins that prevent the handle from turning too far don't work anymore. This allows someone to open the door even if it is locked. This door is opened about 100 times a day.

Product has lasted less than 6 months after installation. Screws pulled through the interior casing leaving the unit connected only by the top two screws. Item reported for warranty. waiting for response. Other then that easy to program. Lots of great features. Really hoping that the heavy duty unit was built heavy duty. Would be OK for inside door or outside door that did not require much effort to open or close. I have this mounted on a steel exterior door that requires a little effort to open. Should not be an issue for a good quality lock.
