Instructions for Alexa Install
Was a little confusing at first how to set this up and get working with Alexa but here's how to install:1. Install the Smart Life app to your phone/tablet. - either scan the qr code provided to search for it on the appstore (was called Smart Life - Smart Living on iPhone)2. Make sure your phone/tablet is connected to the same 2.4ghz wifi connection that the plug will use. - my phone was connected to my 5ghz network so it was causing the setup to fail, took me a while to realize this mistake.3. Create an account on Smart Life, and go through the preliminary setup.4. Now that you can add a device, choose Electrical Outlet, the first one on the top left of the list of products to choose from.- ignore the fact that the little graphic looks nothing like the plug you have.5. if the light on the plug is not already blinking, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and it will begin to blink6. input your wifi password and the plug's light should stop blinking, turn off for a second, and back on and remain solid, and setup should complete sucessfully momentarily.7. now fire up your Alexa app on your phone/tablet, click the upper left menu, choose Skills & Games, click the little search icon in the upper right and search for Smart Life.8. Alexa will take you to a website to log in to the email/password you used to register on the smart life app and once you do that, Alexa will now have control over your new plug, and you can simply tell Alexa: "Alexa turn on/off the smart plug"- or if you plugged in a light to the plug like i did, i recommend clicking the settings for the plug while still there in Alexa app, and change it from Electrical Outlet to Light and now you can say "Alexa turn on/off the light".

Nightmare to set up, but it works eventually
I hate when people say you get what you pay for but as a tech savvy person I found this incredibly complex to set up. This makes you download and app to use it. If you want to sync to Alexa you must enable a skill. When you download the app it doesn't ask for your phone number but when you enable the skill you can't sync without a phone number for the account. The app itself is for the UK and has tons of options for devices you can add but not one of them is a US plug. So after using the "easy" set up failed, I tirelessly tried all the options to sync and if you select "other device" it actually works. If your stuck and can't figure it out, I hope that tip helps you. It usually takes me 10 minutes tops to figure stuff like this out, but this took all afternoon. I would gladly pay $10 more and get Amazon brand since my other device was a breeze to connect to. This was a nightmare. Now that it's connected it works like a charm.

Initial setup frustrating, uses SmartLife App initially before connecting to Alexa
This one was way different than the first smart plug I bought which plugged in and Alexa recognized and we were done. With this one I had to research and finally after reading through the reviews someone, thankfully, took the time to write down each step and I was able to walk through it. After finally getting it setup and connected to Alexa I am happy and hopefully will remain that way.Update: Do not buy this plug. I've had nothing but problems with getting it to stay connected. I was hoping I could get more of these because the price is better but I'll stick with the better more expensive plugs at least they'll work consistently.

Incredibly easy to install!
This is my first smart plug and experience with smart devices, and it couldn't have been any easier, even easier than I thought it was going to be, with just my first attempt. I got this to be able to turn my security camera on (that I plugged into it) from anywhere if I forget to turn it on before I leave the home (which I do a lot), and it works like a charm!(Disclaimer: I have a background in computers and networking, so that may be part of the reason it may be easier for me than others; but either way, I just wanted to show that if it's done right, it's very easy to set up and install.)

Great Device for When You're Away
I initially purchased this device for use when my hands were full and I needed a light to turn on.However, this came in very handy when we went on vacation recently. I was able to use the app I installed on my phone to turn the light on and off from 500 miles away. This is better than those analog programmable light plug-ins. Instead of having a set time to have the light turn on and then off again each night, I could randomly turn the light on and off. I do set what the neighbors thought!Overall, I am very pleased with this handy device.

Remote operation by connecting to the net, Voice operation by smart speaker linkage
Electrical outlet to connect to WiFi. Remote control with smartphone is possible if it connects to the net.It is possible to turn the outlet on / off from home as well as on the go.Operation is done via an application called "SmartLife".In addition to turning the power on and off, a timer (only once or repeatedly)It is also possible to cooperate with a certain smart speaker, so you can control by voice. Please plug the main body directly into the outlet. At the time of insertion, the power turns on and it leads to WiFi.The first setting is done with smart SmartLife application.Wireless LAN can be used only in the 2.4 GHz band (802.11 b / g etc.).It is not compatible with 5 GHz (802.11 a), so be careful only there. In addition, plug of the electric products to be inserted into this smart plug are not problematic. Many products with shapes very similar to this product appear on Amazon, apparentlyJust different vendors, contents seem to be the same in many cases. In that case, it seems that it can handle it distinctly from "SmartLife" application.Either way it is very convenient and the price is becoming affordable,Those who have WiFi at home, I recommend you try it once by all means.
