After 1 year, loved this book, but upgrading to Pro for more flexibility.
I'm on my last month & have ordered my second Clever Fox budget book, which will be the Budget planner pro. Highly recommend this or the pro version for anyone looking for a tangible budget tracking.Overall: This is great notebook for anyone starting out. The pages help get you organized, and the layout is generous enough to accommodate different money management approaches. In addition to external financial advice & quarantine, this book helped me pay off +10K in credit card debit, by seeing wasted expenses, painfully writing down charges that I could no longer remember and being able to budget for new quarantine hobbies while staying on plan. The one piece that was missing from this notebook & all of versions from Clever Fox is the lack of an investing section. Would also like to see a bigger savings section. As I finish the book, in future versions I would love to see a picture of where I started and how I ended. You can cobble the picture together with the provided layouts but would love a two-page view to show consolidated savings, cash, investments, & debit that includes where I started, how much I put in/withdrew, current balance, and write some goals and reflections. I tried multiple apps and a different planner brand before clever fox, and it did not result in any changes because of the passive engagement, limited budget layout and lack of monthly assessment and reflections.Below is more detail review. The first few pages, My Financial Goals, My Mind Map, My Strategy, My Tactics, and year at a Glance are nice to get you focused, but I honestly rarely remembered they were there or used any of them except the first two. May be more helpful for someone with a more complicated financial picture or goals.Month & YearEnjoyed the calendar section at the beginning, helped me figure out why I kept downing my account by writing down the days of known monthly expenses, scheduled savings, and income. As a result, I did request some of monthly services to change the bill date and was able to pay additional money towards my credit card debit (end of month) while also having money for rent (1st of month). After I paid off my credit card, I found the savings section to be too small and there is no section for investing.Monthly BudgetInitially loved all the subcategories, it helped me change the way I was thinking about expenses and better prioritize. As I got better, the subcategories were annoying because I wasn't using a lot of them. If you are more advanced or these categories don't apply to you, I recommend the budget planner pro which has the same layout less the subcategories.Expense tracking- straight forward, no razzle dazzle but also not neededMonthly budget review + Ideas & NotesHated the pie chart, used it once.....was more frustrating that helpful. The table under spending analysis was enough for me. Enjoyed the reflection questions and notes section, big reason I chose this notebook. After using for a year, the monthly review would be more helpful next to the budget. You already have to do a lot of page flipping to fill in the actuals, and then more to fill in the review + year summary. In the pro version the monthly budget and review are on the same two-page spread. (Clever fox Budget Book and Budget Planner are similar but have key layout differences)Savings & Debit Tracker - Prefect, especially if you have a specific goal like pay off credit card and save for a bougie birthday trip. If you don't use all of one type of the trackers and want more of the other, its super easy to repurpose the pages.Holdiay Buget, Gifts, Spending - 100% didn't use. I don't plan that far in advance, and the captured those needs on the month & year pagesRegular Bill Tracker - Personally do not have a lot of standard bills, or ones that vary by amounts, so 100% didn't use. Might be helpful for someone trying to get a handle of those types of expenses. I just had a shopping addition, hence the credit card debit.Summary of the Year - forgot about these pages until the last four months. Will be using in new planner to monitor shopping expenses, membership fees, and savings goals over time. Again, a net worth page layout would be great. Would also like the top section to mirror the monthly budget review section. Since notebook is set up to exclude savings from expenses, there needs to be two separate lines for savings vs balance. If you prescribe to giving all your money a job, it is hard to see how many months you made it to zero.Check Register, Account Information, and blank pages - 100% didn't use. Personally, wouldn't write down my account information in the same book that shows how much is in those accounts.....the reasons should be obvi. The check section is only two pages....not sure what you capture here that is not your monthly expense section. Might use the blanks when I finish this last month, to write happy messages to myself.

Great Planner
Overall, this is a great budget planner. It comes with instructions on how to fill out every section, cute stickers, and some helpful tools on how to save and budget. The cover is great and I have not had any issues with durability. I only wish the planner was a bit bigger, along with the instructions as it is hard to read.

Helpful to keep you on your budget!
My husband and I have been using these Clever Fox Budget Planners for the last four years. The budget books were integral tools that helped us stay on track to save and buy a house last year. Unfortunately, I misplaced this year's book during a move in May and I felt so lost until I found it again in November. I tried using something else, but it was not adequate. We love using these planners and highly recommend them to others. We have already purchased budget planners for the next two years! We never want to run out of them!! They're the BEST value for our money.

Teen budgeting or beginner
I read all the reviews and honestly thought that this was what I was in need of, and I was very wrong, however as a "Seasoned budgeter," I have found the planner and larger scale version that I am in need of.I have helped many people, family and friends work through budgeting and planning and I thought that this little book and I mean little would work for me, however it is just not ideal for a small business owner and single parent. This "Journal," of budgeting and planning is more for beginners and a teen possibly, heading into college. My hand literally covers this planner fully. So, I am actually gifting it to someone who is just learning about planning to help them get started and have ordered a larger and much more suitable planner for myself. For the cost that they are charging in this I would have liked to see it actually shipped in a box and not just cellophane wrapper with a tag on it. Pretty sad. I have to say not impressed at all. However, it is the season of giving so I will give it instead of returning it.Much love and hope this helps someone else.

Great starter budget planner
I brought this planner after watching many YouTube videos on building wealth and seeing how useful having a written down budget can aid finicial independence. This planner is well made and the green is an eye catching colour (the colour of money lol). I like it's not obvious to anyone else what is, if they walked in my house and saw on the table. The person goals section are great to focus on what your working to achieve. The monthly review is personally the part I like the best and I can be honest with my self on how I did that month and improve on it the next. There is plenty of expense tracker space.I would have liked more than 4 savings tracker sections as I am trying sinking funds and have quite a few. This is a great budget planner for anyone starting there financial independence journey.

Everything you would want in a budget planner!
This planner has been instrumental in helping me sort out my finances. I love the goals and strategy section. It's really got me fine tuning plans for how to budget!Breaking things down into smaller steps helps me to not feel so overwhelmed. The debt tracker, savings tracker and expense tracker have been amazing. It has been so helpful to be able to account for every penny spent. The summary of the year is a good way to see how much you have spent and whether you have saved. What attracted me most to this planner was the beautifully debossed rose gold cover. It feels silky and has that faux leather feel.I would only personally make a couple of adjustments: having a section for a to do list/ note section each month and changing the Christmas budget to a celebration or special occasion budget. Not everyone celebrates xmas 😉.Oh yeah, you also get stickers and a digital guide on how to fill out the planner so you won't be left not knowing what to do!

Keep a track of all the little spends too!
This is what I need!I started my own business this year and being so totally disorganised I didn’t know what was ‘business’ and what was mine, so I have given myself a kick up the bum to start budgeting my own account and separating business and personal. This will help me work out what I spend my money on. Its like dieting, we think we don’t eat as many calories a day as we do and then wonder why we are fat! This is the same - it’s all those little bits that you spend and then wonder where all your money has gone, so for me this is a great help as I like to see it on paper rather than on an app.

Video information is incorrect.
I have multiple debts, I bought this book to help me keep track of those debts a little better, the video on amazons sale page for this book states that it has 12 debt trackers. The book arrived today and I found that it only has 4, after reading the description I see that it states that the book doesn’t have many of the features that the video claims it has, so I admit that it’s partly my fault that I just believed the information in the video description without reading the text description.Anyone reading this and considering buying it, please read the description because the information in the video is either outdated or an out right lie.Cleaver fox, if you are reading this please update the video, other than the missing features the book seems to be well made, but it’s hard to trust a company enough to buy from them again after this misinformation.

Great if you get paid once a month.
I am now writing a review as I wanted to use it for a couple of months. It is a good planner if you get paid on the 1st of the month and can use this as a planner for the month. I find it quite difficult as I have multiple amounts on different weeks and I find it hard to budget and write this out. This is no fault with the planner at all, it’s my monthly incoming and outgoing money. Would I suggest for someone to purchase this, absolutely. Personally I won’t buy it again next year as it wasn’t correct for me. It’s clear, great paper and size. The colour I got was purple and it’s a lovely colour.
