Maybe didn't need the SS hardware but it worked great
I am not sure if I needed this SS hardware but since the deck where I installed the gate is in a high humidity environment and located close to a river I went ahead and bought them. They are well made and give me piece of mind that they may outlast the gate, which I really like as well.

Recommended if installing outdoors
The stainless steel parts in this package Cardinal Gates Stainless Steel Hardware For Stairway Special Pet Gate comprise ALMOST all the parts needed for an outdoor installation of an SS30 Cardinal gate. Not a big deficiency, but it would be nice if it included the two setscrews used to set the gate's width. I have noticed some rusting of the setscrews included with the gate itself in an outdoor environment, and will probably pick up a couple of stainless setscrews locally.***addendum***Rather than purchase stainless steel setscrews, I simply cleaned the existing rust, then painted over the ends with spar urethane.

Love the gate itself
Does not include stainless replacements for the pivot rod top and bottom caps, which are showing rust after only a few weeks in the elements. Kit seems overpriced for what it is.Love the gate itself. Keeps our dog on the deck without greatly hindering our use of the stairs ourselves.

Don't buy these if you already purchased the "Outdoor gate" by cardinal gates
I purchased this after reading the reviews of the cardinal gates for outdoor usage, but then I found the packaging for the outdoor gate already has the steel hardware included. Crazy expensive for what it is anyway.

A must have if your installing outdoors!!
Ease buy this if your planning on installing this outdoors! They are made to not rust and will help your gate working perfectly!!

At 1/8th the price of the entire gate, this small set of stainless steel screws etc. is wildly overpriced.

Cardinal gate
I ordered the gate, extension and hardware. All parts were excellent. We have a larger opening on our deck so needed the extension.The gate is flexible in positioning and worked perfectly. Assembles fairly easily and is very strong. I'm pleased with the results.

They fit...
Not too much to say...they fit and they are not supposed to rust. Time will tell if they rust or not.
