A captivating grabbag of Streisand works from the Belle of 14th Street and an unfinished album project called the Singer, tied together by the master title track, plus All in Love is Fair; What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?; Something So Right, and more! Review: Great Songs for your Music Collection - This is a must have for any music lover. These are timeless songs from a timeless voice in music. Even if some of the songs are unfamiliar, you will find they quickly become favorites. I had this in a cassette and hardly listened to it anymore. Now I play it over and over. Originally I bought it because I heard someone on the radio sing "Summer Me, Winter Me." When Barbra sings it, Wow. "The Best Thing You've Ever Done" is a favorite too. Review: very good quality for the price - excellent cd

Please reissue original single version,ms. Streisand
Though technically flawed, there is no denying the raw emotion that was evident in the now deleted single version. Though technically flawed, the ordinal single conveyed the anguish and longing suggested by its title. The cd is good but would be better with the original single( included(bonus track perhaps?}

Showcases Ms. Streisand's Exquiste Singing Prowess
Barbra Streisand is a magical talent. "The Way We Were" showcases her exquisite singing prowess in ten memorable songs, by the likes of Paul Simon, Carol King, Stevie Wonder, and four songs by the incredible writing team of A. Bergman, M. Bergman, and M. Legrand. These songs weren't intended for a typical Streisand album. That said, the song content, musical arrangement and production, sounds of a whole. My favorite cuts include "Something So Right", All in Love is Fair", "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life", "Summer Me, Winter Me" and "Pieces of Dream". But really, there is not a weak song in the set, and as she is wont to do, Ms Streisand makes these songs her own, as if she had written them herself, a rare talent she shares with Frank Sinatra, Nat Cole, Judy Garland, and few others. I've been listening to this album for 40-plus years, and it still sounds fresh and new.

wow
wow is a stupid word/sentiment. I just didn't knopw what else to say at the time. I love everything by Barbra.and I do mean everything. I'd LOVE to hear her sing the phone book. .but..something aout this particular album..I don't know.... if I was stranded on that proverbial desert island, one of the top five ( EVER) songs I'd have to hear over and over gain would be " what are you doing for the rest of your life" which is on this album. At my most hardened, hard-boiled cynical moments, this album can bring me to surrendered romantic tears. So, "wow" is what I have to say. What a classic, by this classic timeless songstress.
