California Costumes Women's Ruffled Pettiskirt

I absolutely LIKE this. It is almost like a one size fits all because its L/XL, and to be honest I'm not sure if they just put L/XL and so on for all of them and just market them as separate sizes but its really a one size fits all. Anyways I don't care its awesome!My regular pants size is 11-13 in juniors and I obviously bought a size L/XL in this petticoat. It fits perfectly, if I would have been a size more I don't think that it would have fit me as good. It does stretch but it was stretched to the max with my size already. I do have some love handles and rolls as I have had kids and this does not cut into me when I stand, HOWEVER it does when I sit. When I do sit down it gives me an extra roll where it lays on my waist or wherever it sits/falls. This is the only thing that's not good about it. There wasn't a bigger size or I would have ordered up a size as I would rather it be larger and have to take it in then it be too small and I cant use it. But again, these go in 2 sizes and this was the larger of the latter so I will make do with it and hopefully I will find the perfect petticoat sooner rather than later in the near future. (This also doesn't look like the picture on me because its stretched fully and there is no give, as you see in the picture of the model.)

this is pretty much exactly what I needed. I bought some retro 50's style empire waist, above the knee, almost swing style dresses that flare out. however, I'm pretty thin and narrow 5'4, 105, 33/26/33, so the dresses just fall. I bought a black one of these to go under them to help "puff" them out a little (they are black and red). believe it or not, it doesn't look ridiculous. lol if I roll or wear this pettiskirt up toward my natural waist, to where you can barely see any of it at the bottom, it makes the dress look perfect without looking like a costume. a lot of dresses have tulle at the bottom anyway, so it almost makes the otherwise elegant dress look somewhat edgier.. like maybe it came from hot topic. lol i don't know how else to explain. but the dress fabric is thick, so this isn't visable underneath at all. for $10 it's a great buy. this will work for Halloween costumes, too. pretty versitle little pettiskirt.

The material quality reminds me of Halloween costumes, but it's sewn well enough to stand up to lots of wear if taken care of. The top portion is a stretch fabric with a satin shine, sewn to a tulle skirt with modest ruffles along the hem of 2 layers of tulle.It adds a small amount of volume, and ends about mid-thigh so there are no frills peeking from the bottom of my knee-length skirts. (My perception: It seemed a little shorter on me than on the model in the picture. Keep that in mind if you have an exceptionally large rear because it will no doubt cause a more dramatic shortening of the skirt length)The Large/Extra large fits comfortably/snugly for size 14/16. While the material has more stretch in it, the threads do not so I don't expect it to fit any women size 18 or larger without popping seams.

I didn't expect a lot from this, I just needed something to give my halloween costume a little extra length and a little fluff for the skirt. This was great. It has about four inches of satiny material with a little stretch. There are two layer of the tulle, and the last inch on each layer has another bit of tulle. So, two layers, but four layers to create a bit of texture/fluff/ruffle at the end. I am usually in the 8/10 size range, and was a little nervous if this would fit small, but it was perfectly fine. I am not sure I will wear it much, but it is sturdy and cute enough to get the job done for when I need it.

Used them for Halloween costume. They worked fine and definitely added to the costume! Material is a little itchy, but it didn't really bother me.

Loved the material of this pettiskirt - much more comfortable to wear than the others I've purchased in the past that had the rough, itchy material. This was soft and filled the skirt of my costume out perfectly. There was a lot of excess fabric still attached from when it was put together, so I just carefully ran my fingers over it to make sure it was all off. Also, one of the hems had come out along the bottom of the skirt, but it didn't affect the look of the skirt so I left it alone.

This fit better than I had expected since it was a combo size of S/M, and it hit just mid-thigh as depicted in the photo. The only thing I would say is it seemed to have a couple of rough seams on the layering ruffles, but nothing that would prevent me from keeping/wearing it. I did end up returning it as the costume I bought needed a shorter length, and this was just a tad bit too long for it.

I chose this rating for style alone. In the picture it looks like it adds a little ruffle but it is too much ruffle! and very itchy!! I bought it to go under a very nice costume to add a little coverage in the back because it was literally showing my panties...I want something sexy but not short (I am 5'3"). I wish that it had less fluff or I would have kept it. I have an hourglass figure and I have a butt so all I felt that it did was add more volume to my hips. Instead, I chose to buy a skater skirt that was lighter in fabric to cover a little more without the "puffiness". Just my two cents...hope it helps :)
