Good book for a novice!
For a complete novice, it's a good book, but if you know the basics of fruit tree growing ten it's a waste of time. Since it's free I should complain. "You get what you pay for"

Decent, Not Perfect
Contains lots of useful information, though not much that can't easily be found on the internet. Not much on spraying trees for insects. The peach ice cream recipe is fantastic, even with frozen peaches.

Very light in the details
Too many trees covered with very little information about each. Written as to a class of third graders. Nothing you can't get really quickly with an internet search. Now, if you are teaching a class of kids about trees, this would be a good textbook.

Good Advice
This book was so very helpful for me to learn about the trees I want to plant in my southern garden. It is easy to read and comprehensive. If you need help with fruit trees for the south read this one.

Lovely book!
I especially loved the historical backgrounds of the fruit trees he covered. This was very enjoyable. I read it in a day! Great for beginners. I would buy it again and recommend it.
