Coach Wooden's Pyramid of Success Kindle Edition

The manner of how the book is organized is fantastic. Instead of book that is heavy as if that makes it great-"Coach Wooden's Pyramid of Success' Building Blocks For A Better Life" is slim and so well organized you will learn so much and after each chapter it's 'Your Turn". Everything he did seemed genius--and with this wonderful book--we can take another big step toward our goals no matter what they are. So glad I bought this. When I was at UCLA I'd see Coach Wooden I'm sorry I didn't say, "Coach, can I shake your hand"? To me he was a great man.

I love John Wooden's approach of giving your personal best. We all know what that is. If we can turn off the voice to please the beast of self recognition and tune into being the best we can at any moment, we will certainly succeed. Our Savior will help us have a balance between running faster than we have strength and pushing ourselves to obtain the best within us and how to understand in our hearts that win or lose, the personal championship is won by our efforts, and to be satisfied with that.

Coach Wooden was a legend among coaches, and his experiences and coaching strategy are well presented in this book. Wooden’s coauthor is a Christian minister, so although Wooden’s writing and teaching is centered in Christian principles, it’s not until you read the second half of each chapter that the Christian principles are emphasized. Regardless, you don’t have to be a Christian to benefit from the wisdom of Coach John Wooden presented in this book.

Being 33 years old and just bearly reading it I feel like I should have read this in my high school or Jr. High School days I could've became alot more. Not only this book teaches you but is simple to pass the knowledge and apply the steps in every day life

Author incorporates faith into his coaching philosophy

Super insight on Coach Wooden and his pyramid. I love his detailed insight on each layer. Very solid information. It's indepth. I have so many takeaways.

This is an EXCELLENT guide for wanna-be coaches, along with Mike Matheny's The Matheny Manifesto. It's full of simple insights into a coach's/and good person's thought process. Each chapter outlines a building block in Wooden's Pyramid of Success then this Jay Carty guy supports the Coach's thoughts with complimentary bible verse. It works out okay. UNTIL... you get to the "Intentness" chapter which compares staying focused on a goal to the woman in the Bible who had her period for 12 years. It was then that I began to question everyone's judgement. Leading up to that, some of the Bible chapter/verse selected were pretty random or repetitive. I'm not sure this book had an editor.

The book emphasizes key points and tips from the best life coach. Success and happiness takes work and fine tuning. Anyone who studies these principles and applies them will be better for it. It's a lifelong process. Our family has enjoyed discussing this book.

Le livre officiel de J. Wooden est bien mieux. Cela reste très résumé et trop de paragraphes/commentaires d'un point de vue religieux (psaumes et compagnie). Bref, assez moyen dans l'ensemble.

Coach Woden’s ideas and concepts are really inspirational and will act as a great foundation for success. The only thing I didn’t realise and should have researched before is how religious this book is I skipped all the Carty parts as that just don’t work for me.
