Lifegard Aquatics 1/2-Inch Bulkhead Fitting Kit

20 ft. kennel being used for a chicken run. We covered it with a heavy tarp for a roof. These drains installed are removing the rain water that would otherwise puddle on the tarp. Attached black plastic hose to spout and ran down the inside of kennel. Works very well. Tough plastic with good gasket and seal.

I am building a 5 gallon DWC hydroponic system and I wanted a bucket level. I installed the bulkhead about an inch above the bottom of the bucket and attached a ten inch hose on the outside. I just like to keep an eye on the level of water without having to mess with the plant too much and this worked perfectly.

This is a slightly softer fitting and should probably be used on something along the lines of a 5 gallon pail or something. The Banjo fittings are much more rugged. The positives on this are that many threads will fit and adapt to this, and it has plenty of threads left over, allowing you to penetrate thicker materials. I originally bought this because it has the hose adapter and strainer. I didn't end up using them, but it was handy to have I guess! I bought this on Amazon Prime so my shipping was fast and free. Can't complain there!

I like that these have a very tight fit into the 1/2 inch ID hose. I love that they have excellent sealing rings that don't leak - no extra sealant required. I don't like that out of the 3 I've ordered, only 2 came with the strainer insert. I didn't need it for the project I'm working on, but it would have been nice to have. I'm taking off a star for that.

Great bulkhead if you need to make a resevoir out of a square trash can for an automatic plant watering system

Worked great for my vase fountain project. Just keep in mind of course that the bulkhead measures over an inch in diameter requiring a larger hole than 1/2inch.

Solid bulkhead. The only negative is that the threaded end is in millimeters. If you are not connecting any fitting to the threaded end no big deal... if you are you are you will run into a problem.

Well made, sturdy. Used to make a water treatment purification system I used this to connect the buckets. So far have not connected all three buckets (sand, small gravel and carbon) but individually they do not leak. If they did it would be my error.

Excelente el bulkhead y la pieza de conexión a l bomba de retorno, solo tuve que comprar un tubo de salida de pato pues el que viene en el kit no es muy funcional para el acuario

there's no strainer like in the pictures... only comes with 1 washer/gasket and this isn't 1/2" correct size for this thing is 7/8" as it can be seen on the pictures I already had a hole for a 1/2" pipe which is about just over 3/4" the hole for this bulkhead needs to be just over 1" 1/8" and there's no way I'm grinding glass to make the hole 1/4" bigger to allow for some random size fitting... piping usually comes in increments of 1/8" which would be 1/2", 3/4", 1" and so on...if you drill a hole for this you will have a very hard time finding fittings for this thing 1 star...returning it and reporting this item as wrong labelled/size
