Blackburn Slick Racing Bottle Cage

The holy grail! I considered spending much more on cages, then a friend recommended these. The are unbelievably light, seem very sturdy through my first 500 road miles and the price was right. I did blame them for a bit of a rattling noise at first, but I added a small piece of foam where they touched the bike and that quieted everything up.

Order this plastic cage for my road bike. the cage is very lightweight. you can't feel any on hand when you hold it. The cage hold my 24oz Polar insulated bottle very well on the first 20 miles trip. the design looks very good on the bike and everything looks perfect! I like it! I will order other one for my second bottle.One thing I like to point out, due to slick design of this cage. The hard plastic material use to make this cage may break due to impact. or may not! I don't know that yet!Update after 4 years of use. works great, Love it. and just order other one for my kids. Change from 4 to 5 stars

I got a blue and a white cage trying to match the colors of my bike. I had a Stryker cages from REI previously and for anyone who rides in NYC knows that even the so called bike lanes that are painted green have enough cracks, and holes that if hit at the wrong speed can easily get you hurt or can even pinch your tire tubes giving you flats. The Stryker cages were just not doing it for me. I dropped my gatorade bottles and a cheap cycling bottle numerous times until the last time where it fell out at an intersection in midtown where there was too much traffic around me to bother to recover it. It was then that I decided it was time to change cages.ProsThis cage holds the bottles perfectly fine. I use a 20oz insulated Polar bottle and a 24 oz insulated Novara bottle for reference.My bottles have never fallen out again.The colors match my bike.The design looks good.I don't usually wear pants while riding but I have a few times and with my previous cages my pants would get caught in the cages while pedaling. With this cages this has not happened again.They are very light.ConsI can see the bottles moving the cagles mostly on the diagnonal big triangle tube.They look flimsy and I am afraid they might break anytime soon or maybe that's the design.Overall, I am happy with this purchase. The cages do what they are supposed to do. I have never dropped a bottle again while on the road. I put pictures on the side. These cages hold the bottle very tight so you have to put a little extra effort getting your bottles out but really its nothing to cry about in my opinion. I am not giving them 5 stars because of the flimsyness. Even though I am happy with them I am afraid that one time I'll hit a crack on the road and the cage will snap. Still, I can say I am pleased with this purchase and for the price I paid I'd say this is not a bad bottle cage.

These water cages are very light and hold the bottles very well. Just as others said they almost hold the bottles too well and the bottles are almost difficult to pull out, but they slide in with much less effort. However, the fit is very snug with my Camelbak Podium insulated bottles, but with the Polar insulated bottles the hold is much looser. Loose to the point where I feel the bottle could fall out on bumpy roads. But I won't fault the cage for that being that there are so many companies making bottles to varying dimensions it'd be impossible to construct a truly universal cage that can successfully hold all bottle types. But for the Camelbak Podium, insulated or not insulated, they hold is very tight and solid. I would recommend these to a friend.

It's light and holds my bottles, which is what it's meant to do. So good job, Blackburn! Recently did a 52 mile gravel ride and it was nice and tight. Not hard to get bottles out of either.For reference, I use Polar bottles.I overtightened one of my bottle cage bolts and snapped the plastic. It's still holding though and still holds bottles even while riding mountain bike trails on a fat bike.UPDATE- The overtightened one broke over the winter. I got 2 more for my Vaya and one already broke. I think that might have been from pulling it out at a slight angle due to the Revelate Designs Tangle bag. They held my bottles throughout the 102 miles of gravel on Almanzo and 900 other miles, but it's dying now.

Buy this cage if you want a very light, inexpensive bottle cage. If weight is a high priority, buy this one. It's as light or lighter than carbon cages that cost 5X as much, and it holds a bottle securely.Don't buy this cage if you want a bomb proof, lasts-for-a-lifetime type item. If you don't care about an extra 100 grams, then buy aluminum or steel bottle cages, or spend the money for Ti. I think these cages are great, I put them on my road and mountain bikes. That being said, I replace about one cage a year because they are not indestructible.

These things are very light weight and maintain grip on the bottles. I use two 800ml SIS bottles and have had no problem with them popping out. I don't ride many rough roads but I did take these on a bumpy road outing specifically to see how they would hold up. Left the house with two bottle and returned with two bottles.They are easy to place and retrieve the bottle from.Overall I am happy. If something changes in the long term I'll be sure to post an update!

Incredibly light (23g) bottle cage for the money. I'm sad enough to have weighed mine and they were spot on. I've been using them for several months and my bottles have stayed securely in place. Recommended.
