I needed to ream a few holes to just under 15mm for a press fit of a linear bearing in a 3/8 inch thick piece of aluminum. I would normally do this with a boring head on a milling machine, but did not have access to the machine I normally use. I don't normally use adjustable reamers, but I thought I would give this one try. I was able to get the size I wanted by easing the size up a little at a time. Based on the visible flaws in the blades, this reamer is clearly not a very high quality tool, but it does stay on center and evenly and consistently enlarges a hole to the size I want. Note I run this in a drill press at about 50 to 100 RPM and use cutting fluid. I have not tried this for cutting steel.A note on how these work...the blades sit in tapered slots in a cylindrical backing. You adjust the size by turning the retaining nuts on the top and bottom of the blades, causing the blades to slide up or down in these slots. Both nuts are turned the same direction for this adjustment, loosening one end and tightening the other.

They say"you get what you pay for"Very true here.Had 4 pair of 14mm bronze bushings to take out .0014",on average. Cutting edge lasted through 2 pair.Was a real struggle to get last 2 pair.Have another job requiring same sizing...Penny rich pound pour!Would not reccomend this reamer.The hunt continues!

It was used along with an extension shaft to ream the bore of a revolutionary war era musket to remove rust pits. I was very pleased with the results.

Quickly aligned 2 new bearings in a Ross Steering box rebuild that I had to JB weld into place due to the housing having significant wear. (Willys CJ2A) Done in 10 min!

Worked fine for me, reaming some holes in wood. I've used these many times before on metal and this will work fine on metal. The flutes are relieved slightly a short distance from the cutting front corner which prevents binding. Cutter blades seem to be high speed steel as advertised which lets it cut steel and all softer metals or materials. Adjusts size easy within reason. Marginal for micro-inches in steel but once set should retain size for multiple holes same size. Any use in metal requires cutting oil which is normal.

I had a v-belt pulley for a 3/4 shaft. I need one for a 20mm shaft. I found that pulleys for 20mm shafts were hard to find and expensive. I purchased this reamer and reamer out the 3/4" hole to 20mm in short order. Don't let the millimeter sizing fool you. It work for both English and metric within it's size range.

outstanding reamer!!!! had to ream new king pin bushings on my golf cart. i could'nt find a machine shop to do it.

If you're reading this, buy something else. I know what I'm talking about. Look closely at the enlarged photos at how badly it's ground. I have to use it to open a hole a little and the back of the inserts are not as bad. If I had time I'd send it back.
