Aquatic Arts 1 Juvenile Electric Blue Crayfish | Live Freshwater Aquarium Lobster / Crawfish / Crawdad / Real Living Fish Tank Pet

My daughter has wanted a electric blue crawdad for a year & we finally bought this guy in the pictures for her & she was so happy she cried. I hesitated between which type to buy & ultimately settled on the juvenile since it stated they grow fast & thought that would be fun for my daughter.I’m not going to lie when it first came it was smaller than I had anticipated & wasn’t very blue, I was highly concerned at this point but realized after putting him in his new home his blue color started to show so I figured he was initially stressed.He was not bigger than an inch when we got him, but they were 100% right he has been so fun to watch & is growing very fast. In the picture above he is getting ready to shed again which is why he doesn’t look as bright. Each time he sheds he gets more & more blue. We have had crawdads before but we did extra research before getting this guy & learned several new things about creating the perfect environment for them & I highly suggest doing so as these guys aren’t just a couple of bucks.My daughter really loves this little guy & gets so much joy out of him.I would absolutely recommend aquatic arts as he was packaged perfectly, came with links on their page to great information, instruction sheet, I was constantly updated on the shipping & exactly when he would arrive. He was also packaged with a little heat pack which was used up by the time he arrived so I was worried if he was alive being colder but he was totally fine & ready to get out of the bags.We had the tank ready to go & I would recommend doing that a week before arrival. I would absolutely recommend buying a juvenile because with the right tank conditions it’s a lot of fun to watch his growth, ours has shed 5 times already.I was concerned about packaging but it was perfect, although there’s no way to avoid water movement the bags were double bagged & secured so the actually bag wasn’t getting thrown around not that any delivery driver wouldn’t handle ever package with the utmost care. 🙂I acclimated him by floating him & eventually poking holes in the bag as one of the ways recommended & it worked out great.We will be purchasing from them again & already have some things on the list for the future.The up close picture is now but the further out was the day he arrived.

Blue Steel arrived perfectly packaged and healthy as can me and is patrolling my tank as we speak.He( no idea if it is m/f so it is he for now) is active and pretty and I am so excited to see him grow. I will update my review later but so far the company gets an A++!Edit: What is happening.... I am pretty sure that blue steel is a female. She had been hiding for the last two weeks( not normal) so I inspected her today and she seems to have a slight color change and I swear she has eggs! Can this really happen with a lone female blue crayfish? On a side note she had an adventure to the fridge two weeks ago but I caught her in time and sealed up the hole by the filter.

I really wanted one of these little guys but was worried about ordering via the mail because its summer and stupidly hot where I live. The crayfish came on the first day of the delivery window. He was well packed with a little cooling pack and lots of packaging to help him not move too much. He was super fiesty and has settled in well. He did give me a bit of a scare because little dude molted and then hid and all I could see was the molt and I panicked but he's okay. He's already learned I am the food bringer and comes out when I'm near.

It was really tiny, and even though it was fed, it died the very next day, don't know if it was sick, or just stressed from being in a dark box. Very frustrating experience

My daughter has been begging me for a pet crayfish for over a year and I finally pulled the trigger. I was a little hesitant about ordering a live animal from Amazon. The day I got notification it was delivered it was 100 degrees outside and I was still at work and concerned as I wasn’t gonna be home for another 3 hours. To my relief when I got home he was very well packaged and even had a little ice pack in there. I got him acclimated and once in the tank he immediately started exploring and eating little bits my guppies missed. Two weeks later and he’s still going strong, he’s very active and moves around all hours of the day. Can’t wait till he gets bigger.

So I've had mine for about 2 months now and it's doing well, already about 1.5" long. It was well packed and delivered. My only complaint (which is why I'm deducting a star) is that it was described as "These are very active crayfish that do not spend all of their time under rocks." This was my 4th crayfish. The first was an orange crayfish which spend half it's time hiding but the other half exploring and didn't seem to mind the outside world. My second and third (vanilla) only hid when they needed to molt or had eggs. But for the most part, they know they are queens of their tanks (respectively) and are always out and about. This one, from day one has been skittish anytime there's any movement inside or outside of the tank. It spends almost all of its time hiding - even when I removed all decor, it would bury itself under the sand. There's now another crayfish (vanilla) that I've added to the tank and it walks around without any issue even though it's half the size of the blue one who still just hides and only comes out on the rare occasion that it's hungry, grabs the food and runs back into it's cave. So other than the fact that I never see my pet, I'm pretty happy with it.

Got what I expected, faster than I expected. Package came with instructions to acclimate and the little guy went right to exploring and eating and looks fantastic, couldn’t be happier!! Would definitely recommend!

I had ordered a juvenile electric blue cray and it came well packaged and in good health. I am actually going to get another one, I think.
