Really glad I found this item. I wear hats most of the time because of my thyroid condition which causes my head and ears to be cold almost all the time. This is beautifully soft, a gorgeous soft pale lilac/mauve colour, and best of all, it'd warm without being heavy or itchy or too hot.Will certainly buy more!

It took me a while to find this beanie, after trawling through any number of iffy and in some cases frankly daft reviews for other products. It was more money than I'd intended to pay, but after freezing my ears off and my head going numb on a long walk across open fields with a friend I bit the bullet, and it was the right thing to do. I've worn it half a dozen times now. I have a large head and this beanie has stretched without fuss to accommodate it nicely - not too tight, not loose, long enough to cover my ears with room to spare at the crown and a good roll-up around the bottom. It's a well-made item: no loose threads or strands of fabric, all the stitching I can see is perfect. I've tugged the crown to see how strong the invisible stitching is there, it showed no signs of give or tear. Very solid.It's double skinned: 2 layers of fabric, so very warm, and it's very soft. I haven't washed it yet, and I doubt I ever will - I never washed my ski hats and I wore those for years, until my kids appropriated them.I'm very pleased with this hat, I get a lot of satisfaction from small potentially risky investments turning out well. Little victories, we all need them.

When it arrived, flat in its plastic liner bag, I could see that this was a lot of hat. Double layer, generous cuff, generous head space. My mum did say it felt on the tight side for her, but I have a small head, and for me, it's roomy enough to put a balaclava or headscarf under if necessary, but snug enough that I don't need a headband over top to keep my ears warm.I have to fold it up way past the cuff (in this cold weather, if I try to wear it as a slouch, my scarf or the back of my collar pushes it over my eyes), which effectively means that most of my head has a quadruple layer.I have a 100% cashmere hat from Uniqlo which was more expensive and is smaller, less warm, and itchier.As someone who really feels the cold and has lived in some very cold climates (and in the UK now!), hats are very important to me. This is possibly the best one I've ever had. I've had it for a month or so and have been wearing it constantly, and (even in the pale colour) it still looks fresh. Unusually for me, I'll probably buy another one!

I have a large head. This hat fits comfortably with plenty of room to double up over my ears in cold weather. I have had it four months and have repeatedly machine-washed it on the wool programme (40 deg C and 600 rpm spin). Every time it has come out the same size as in it went, without a thread out of place. It is breathable and does not cause me to sweat. It is the best beanie I have ever owned. At the price, it is a bargain.

I was really surprised by the thick and soft material on this beanie. I expected a little bit more slouchy and baggy fit. Does not really look oversized on my head and fits rather snuggly over my ears. I still really like this hat and will be perfect for those super cold winter mornings!

Only had it for a day and extremely happy with it. You can wear it unfolded without any seams or fold for Pattern. So long g as it's durable I'll be very happy
