The Blacklist - The Beekeeper No. 159

I really enjoyed this book. It was a thrilling adventure from beginning to end with the majority of characters from my favorite TV show. At first I thought the writing wasn't going to be too great, since this is a novel based off of the show, but Steven Piziks does a wonderful job of making the story and characters his own while still staying true to the source material. Despite a few grammatical errors that can be some what distracting, the writing is very descriptive and the Blacklister's methods are truly chilling and enjoyable to read. The only thing that bothered me was that I had a tough time distinguishing where this story takes place within the blacklist timeline. I've came to the conclusion that it must be between the first and second half of the fourth season but there are minor details in the book that may suggest otherwise, it even made me question whether the book is cannon. But overall it was a good read and shipping came a day early. Four stars.

I was really excited when I learned that The Blacklist universe would be expanding into the world of print novels. This book did not disappoint. Liz is written as a smart, confident profiler who knows how to take charge when necessary. In the world of the book - which seems to be set some time in the future after the fall finale of Season 4 - she is back working in the field with the FBI. The book features plenty of Liz, Red and Ressler with appearances by Samar, Aram, Cooper, Dembe and even Mr. Brimley. While there were moments where the voices of the characters did not feel entirely true to the show, there were other moments that captured them perfectly and it was nice to be inside the characters' heads. The Blacklister was interesting and I enjoyed seeing Liz use her psychological skills. All in all, it was an entertaining read.

Seemed a bit slow in the beginning and I was irritated by the fact that the writer was just a bit off on some of the personalities, particularly Raymond Reddington. Toward the end he seemed more "in character" though and the pace and excitement also picked up speed. Also, referred to Mr. Kaplan as MRS. Kaplan, at least in the Kindle version. Don't know about the print version. In the end I can say I did actually enjoy the book and enough so that I'm looking forward to the next one.

I loved this book just as much as I love the series. So many twists and turns. Ally's turn to enemies, enemies to ally's. Expect the unexpected whenever Reds involved. Lizzie is just as stubborn as her mentor and as clever. Love it!!!!!

A good book. It was like reading an episode of the Blacklist on TV. The author did a good job of capturing the characters

If you like the television program, you will like the book.

A very good story but as a true Blacklist fan I was a little annoyed by a couple of silly mistakes. Calling MR Kapplan MRS and also getting the names of Liz's adoptive father wrong ! Apart from that a very good read. Captured the characters well. I'm looking forward to future novels.

Amazing book, if you have watched the TV Show, you should get it!

Excellent read for any fan of the show. Didn't put the book down from start to finish, I was enthralled. Very well written and offers a great little bit of insight into Red's character. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who has watched the tv series or it could even be read as a stand alone novel.

Another fun book based on a tv show. If you like the show, I would recommend purchasing this item. It's fun to read the book and picture the characters you see from tv.

Ainda não terminei a leitura, mas assim como amo demais The Blacklist, com o livro não seria diferente. Recomendo para todos os fãs da série!!!
