Vaseline.
I had the same problems everybody else did with the two pieces connecting. I finally put a little bit of Vaseline on the inside o-ring. pushed The two pieces together a couple of times and now it works great.

Reliable, leak-free connector
The connector is reliable (at least with other Orbit connects) and doesn't leak. I don't need the auto shutoff feature that is on many of these connects, since I have a ball valve on the hose ends.

These work great but you have to have a bunch of gaskets on hand to install them.
I guess it's a standard thing that these do NOT come with gaskets. You have to replace the gasket when installing any of these if you don't want a leaking hose. The rubber piece around the fitting ALWAYS tares and comes off.

Wear a swim suit
I bought a set of 4 of these to change hose attachments. They pop off at high pressure. Some watering attachments fly apart on a regular basis. It works fine for a simple spray nozzle, some types of fertilizer jars or a lawn mower. It does not work for my 2 foot adjustable watering arm. I will need to try a female connector with an automatic shut off feature (or I could try using a raincoat).

Quick and easy. Saves time and effort when removing hoses from the house. Only problem is the black washers keep coming off of the male end which makes it difficult to remove from the faucett.

It works mostly
I needed this part for a set of nozzles that had male connectors. This is hard to put on, but squirts you all over when it too easily disconnects. When it works it's great.

Works like it should
Sturdy built and easy to use. The automatic shut off doesn't always work the way it should and it is difficult to put on attachments when the quick connect is under pressure.
