Wow! what a high value item!!!
this set far exceeded our expectations!... some reviewers spoke of poor quality and uneven cut tips...not our experience, whatsoever... this is a very high quality set... very well made and very robust; i attempted to pull out bristles on each one of the 23 brushes(2 are foam) and could not extract a single nylon bristle... all tips are cut clean & straight, there is a full variety of sizes and styles, and just an awesome set at a terrific value for the arts & craftser, the craftsman, the tinkerer, the beginner artist, etc. ... a truly fantastic set...worth much more than the $5.26 as add-on item... i would say easily worth $20!very pleased... Thank you! :-)

... because she likes to paint and goes through brushes like she's nuts
Bought these for my daughter because she likes to paint and goes through brushes like she's nuts. She has used these with acrylic paint on canvases and said they work well. I like them because you get a wide variety of brushes for a relatively low price, especially if you aren't like my kid and leave them in dried up paint for days. If you are stocking up on art/paint stuff, I would recommend this set which includes hella brushes as well as everything else you need for painting. It even included stuff I had already purchased separately like the plastic pallet, paints, and canvases. US Art Supply® 72-Piece Deluxe Acrylic Painting Set with, Aluminum Floor Easel, Wood Drawer Table Easel, 24-Tubes Acrylic Colors, 9"x12" Acrylic Painting Paper Pad, 6-each 8"x10" Canvas Panels, 2-each 11"x14" Stretched Canvases, 34 Artist Brushes, Plastic Palette with 10 Wells, Wooden Pallete & Now Includes a FREE Color Wheel -Great Student Artist Starter Set

Great Starter Brush Set
I'm a beginner abstract artist (meaning I can't much but random colors) and this set is almost perfect for my use. These brushes are great for acrylics, easy to use and clean. I also tried oil paints but found that they are nearly impossible to clean off. As you can see in my last picture, once you paint with oil paints, these brushes will never be clean again, so I wouldn't recommend them for oils. These brushes aren't perfectly smooth either and you do sometimes find the bristles come off onto the canvas if you press a little to hard, it's not bothersome enough to really get in the way (I have painted 15 8x12 canvases so far). The brushes aren't incredible quality, but for a starter or throw away brushes, they are good enough quality, quantity, variety and price. As long as I am still a novice artist, I will continue to use and enjoy these brushes.

While not for Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, these are great for beginners and brush killing tasks.
You do not buy brushes like this expecting a flawless brush. You buy brushes like this for things that may destroy brushes. That is why I got these. They're adequate. I will be using these for varnishes and other brush killers saving my higher quality brushes for better tasks. I do recommend rinsing them to free the already loose bristles and some may need a trim. Again, these were not bought with great expectations. If you are in need of any brush these are perfect for you. If you are wanting something that is reliably average, these are great. Loew Cornell is a consistent brand and these match the quality of the first set I got when I was ten. Twenty plus years later? Same quality. These are not for your masterpiece.

Great for the price
There are a really broad variety of brushes in here. I was able to split the pack between my 3 kids and they each feel like they have a good sized set for occasional painting. Ages are 10, 7 and 3. Probably not high quality for a serious painter, but miles above the crap you get in other kids' sets for water colors and the like. Also better than other cheap brush sets I've purchased in the past (just from memory I think we had a crayola set and a Melissa and Doug set).

OK for beginners
Since this was a Lowe Cornell product, I was expecting a little better. They used to make really good brushes. This would be OK if you need some cheap disposable brushes or for someone just doing crafts. But I went to use one of the brushes and the entire ferrule/bristle end came off. There were 25 brushes in the pack and a few were OK, a few are "throw-aways." If you are a serious artist, invest in better brushes.

23 cents per brush, folks, that's what it cost me. WHAT A DEAL.
If you are a professional painter, this set is not right for you! This is for hacks like me, who don't mind taking out a hair or two from a canvas painting, or are doing some touch up painting to the walls. That said, for $7, you get 25 very decent brushes. That works out to 23 cents a brush, folks, about as cheap as they come - and actually - makes you wonder how anyone can make any money from making these!I have used about 7 of the brushes, and they are consistent. After using for myself, I hand them down to my kids, who put the brushes through an interesting form of torture, almost to see if they'll fall apart. They really don't, unless you start trying to break them apart.Good brushes, you cannot go wrong for 23 cents a piece. Thanks for reading!

Good value, good selection
Surprisingly good for the money. There are a couple of losers in the pack that I immediately tossed, but the others have been great for use with acrylics on canvas and also for household projects.I am a novice painter who is getting back into it after being away from painting for awhile. This package provided a nice range of different brushes for different sorts of painting so I can decide what I want to invest money in later. This was exactly what I was looking for, price was perfect.

Good quality and best of all good value.
I bought these after a parents stay and play at school, where it was a craft morning. The state of the paint brushes was pitiful, some paint brushes were rock solid with glue, but the fina ,straw was when I was handed a brush with one bristle left on it.I decided to buy these and donate them to the class. They are reasonably good quality and for 25 brushes, good value too though how long they will last in the hands of 7-9 year olds will be debatable.

Varied And Cheap
I use these brush sets because they are cheap and there's a good variety of sizes; however, they are somewhat 'disposable'. I don't use them for long. With some paint strippers the brush fibres tend to fall out. Other than that they are quite useful while they last. BH

Great Set of Brushes!
This is a fantastic set of brushes!!! Bought these for my children to use in our homeschool art projects. The price was great and the brushes are very fun to use. It's a lot of fun to try the different sizes and shapes of the brushes. We've only used them a few times but I think they will last a long time. They seem very durable. Would definitely buy again!
