Level of difficulty is easy (but you need to know how to read standard notation music). Unlike many "easy" song books, this one contains the full lyrics for songs.Some negatives:1. Being a beginner-type book, I'd like to see chord diagrams. This book has no chord diagrams at all. Although I know most chords, there are some with I don't remember. It'll be nice to have the chord diagrams of the chords of a song printed once at the beginning of the song.2. I like to see lyrics printed as multiple lines under the staff rather than printing off in several paragraphs after the music. Having them as separate paragraphs away fro the music means that I must memorize either the music or the lyrics in order to play and sing (because you need both).3. The table of contents organization is hard to use. For books like, I like the songs to be listed in alphabetical order. For example, this book contains the song America the Beautiful; however, it's not under "A" in the TOC, it is under "patriotic songs".

Lots of good 'ol songs. The format leaves a lot to be desired for guitar players. The book is only 8 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" wide. It's a 1/2' thick so it's like a paperback book. It won't lay open and a music stand struggles to hold it open. While most of the chords are common, there are no finger diagrams. I think there are better options out there than this book.

Good choice of songs, organized well

Easy for playing on a fiddle. I play from this book all the time on fiddle or piano and occasionally banjo, 5 and tenor. Just wish you could buy these coil bound for easy putting on a stand.

So many wonderful songs from my girl scout years decades ago. Gave as an upbeat gift to friends who had the same memories and they loved this book.

Good tunes with readable music

Lots of good campfire songs in a variety of genres. Music is a little on the small side for my older eyes and novice playing level, but still a very good purchase.

Campfire Songs [book]. loooks excellent. Has an excellent selection of songs with guitar chords. It was sent as a Christmas present to friends in Australia. who didn't know any campfire songs when we were camping with them in Kangaroo Valley last September! Haven't heard from them yet! It's a heavy book and the postage to Oz cost more than the book!
