Great little camping fan
When a friend offered to let me borrow her Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling fan on a camping trip, I thought to myself "Really? A fan in a tent? That's pretty silly." I am glad I took her up on her offer. It's a great little fan with night light setting too. My husband and I sleep in a three person Eureka and this fan is the perfect size for us. Many other reviews said that the fan was puny... well maybe if you are in a larger tent. It also should be noted that the light is definitely not meant for reading. The batteries last long, but just to be safe make sure to leave one battery out or flipped upside down when you're traveling so that the switch doesn't get turned on accidentally.Long story short: it won't feel like air conditioning, but it gets the air moving. It's nice to have on humid summer nights.

95 degrees and they worked great!
You get what you pay for and theses fans work great. They run on D batteries and lasted 20 hours of straight running. They arent strong but they are quiet and were just enuf too move the air so we could sleep. The light was dim but we have lanterns so went it was dark they worked just fine. I would buy these again and they were easy to move around. I was scared they would rip screen, but they were fine. The friends we were with were going to buy them after they seen how well they worked.

Was okay while it lasted
For the three days that the fan worked, it was okay at best. It moved a little bit of air to help with sleep and did not make noise. I thought it went through batteries a bit quickly, but I was willing to overlook that. Unfortuntately, the fan fell apart after three days. I was able to put it back together for an additional four days, but after a week, it was useless and I tossed it.If you only go camping for one or two days every five years and don't mind spending money to have a cool looking gadget that makes you the envy of the campground, then this would be a reasonable purchase. If, however, you camp more often on a budget, this is definitely not what you are looking for.

but seriously- this will NOT keep you cool during a hot day in your tent
I read all the reviews and was not going to purchase this combo light/fan due to the complaint of low power fan output. I was in a rush and the seemingly improved model sold on Amazon was not eligible for Prime, so I opted for the Coleman. The dim setting light may as well not be included, as it is not helpful for anything. The bright light, however, was powerful enough to illuminate our campsite when it was dark out. The light seemed to shine directly downward, not illuminating the surrounding area, but the space immediately underneath the light (AKA you had to move what you were trying to see under the light to see it).The fan was a complete joke in all honesty. I'm not one to regret a purchase, but seriously- this will NOT keep you cool during a hot day in your tent. The blades are the same felt material as a pocket sized portable fan; the output difference is marginal.

Wonderful product.
Ran for 24 hours on a single set of batteries and ran strong the whole time. This is a personal fan not a whole tent fan. For people who think it will cool a whole tent IT WONT.it does improve the temperature of the whole tent but not airflow to each person but then again i wouldn't expect a small battery powered fan to do that. I did have to use cord to hang it lower because it was a very tall 5 person tent.

Great design
The fact that it has a fan & light build into one is very convenient and useful. The magnet attachment is useful for tent without a loop or string in the middle for lighting or fan. Only issue is the output of the fan, when you turn it to high, you can feel that the fan motor is actually very powerful. I believe the reason for the wind to be weak is because of the safety foam fan blades. It's kinda short too as it has a lot more space to allow a bigger & longer fan blade to increase the wind output. Overall, it's a good buy for use in a tent on a very hot night.

Ceiling fan w/LED light
Absolutely wonderful in my (3) person tent. When it is cold out and you have your Little Buddy Heater on low. Blowing the heat back down from the top of the tent. The LED light is perfect for not casting your shadow on the tent. So others do not get a shadow show of you changing clothes inside your tent.

Not as good as I hoped
I bought this fan since the tent we bought didn't have a rain fly and we where hoping it would help move the air. In short, it didn't!Con's:1 It's flimsy! I expected MUCH better quality and durability from Coleman. This fan is all plastic and foam with the exception of the large (and heavy) magnet. I'm afraid to let me kids handle it for fear they will break it or drop it.2 The fan is noisy! OMG, for as light as it is, I was shocked at how noisy it is! I guess the good thing is it might scare the big mean animals away...3 In a large tent (we had it in an 8 man tent) it is almost useless as a fan. the only way to feel any air flow was to be directly under it, and even then we didn't feel much airflow when it was on high. In a smaller tent it *might* be more useful....4 The magnet and steel 'mount' could use a little more...refinement IMHO. I do not like how rough the magnet is; however, the steel back piece is nicely smoothed. Since I don't have a rain-fly, any small scratch that this thing might make is a BIG deal for us! I especial don't like that the instructions tell you to twist the magnet and steel piece to remove it from the tent. I wish they had at least put a smooth plastic coating over the magnet. *Something* to help safe guard the tent!!Pro's:1 It has two LED light levels. Even in a big 8 man tent the high setting was enough for us to see most of what we needed to see. It also has a low setting that is an amber colored light (night light?).2 It does not *have* to use the magnet/steel mount. Their is a clip built into the base of the fan that can be used without the magnet if your tent has roof mounts (light/utility loops/hooks). This is how we used it.If I had found this in a brick and mortar store where I could have felt/seen how flimsy it was, I never would have bought this fan. There are many purpose built tent lights that would have served us better than this fan/light did.
