I bought this block to free up counter space. I have the Cutco Homemaker+8 set. Since moving to a 100 year old house, not only did I have less countertop space, but they are more shallow-depth. This block is just the right size. Instead of a big, angled block that takes up about 6 inches wide and 15+ inches deep, I now have this very stylish, sleek block that snugs up to the backsplash. The magnets are very powerful and hold everything in upright position. It's also nice to be able to "see" the blade without having to pull it out of the block to find to one I want to use. Highly recommend!!BTW.... I have a block for sale! HAHAHAHA

This knife block really pleased me with the amount of storage space it offers. Most blocks I've tried in the past only offer one or two spots for very large knives. This block offers considerably more.I was able to put several chef's knives, bread knives and santoku knives in the larger slots, while the bottom smaller spaces comfortably fit my paring knives. Although I don't own a cleaver, I think the space at the very top would be able to accommodate one.The block is well made. The wood is smooth and pleasing to the eye. There are no rough edges or splinters.The only reason I haven't rated the block at five stars is because it does take up a lot of counter top space, and I wish it had included a slot for my steel sharpener. But aside from those two minor complaints, I'm very happy with this product.

Should’ve gotten rid of my old knife block years ago. This block is amazing I can put knives on the back and the front and it saves space on my counter because it Stands straight up and tall.

It's nicely attractive, compact, will hold up 8-10 knives (using both sides), functional (buried magnet holds well). Unless you prefer bamboo appearance pay the extra and get the Acacia. This was a gift and she was thrilled to receive.

It doesn't take up a lot of counter space.

This knife organizer takes up less space on the counter unlike a regular block. I love it and I can see exactly what is what without pulling out each knife.

We end up putting weird odd knives we picked up over the years on this one. We were worried about the holes not being big enough or apart enough, but all of them fit very well - tight, but snug.Very glad to have this. The bottom is open ended, so may want to becareful on the longer knives if you have a surface that can be damaged.It's very heavy without the knives. I like that.I'm likely going to coat this to keep it for longer. I have lots of Tung oil left, so I'll go ahead and finish it with that since I'm going to just wash the knives and stick it in this wet.Excellent purchase.

Holds all the knives we need close at hand.

Within a month of ordering this, it has begun to show cracks in the wood. It started off at the top and I didn't pay much attention to it but is now starting to creep down on the sides and seems like it will continue on. I can confirm this has not been dropped or made wet. We always dry our knives before putting it on the block as we do not want the knives to develop any rust. I am disappointed and will be emailing the seller for either a refund or a replacement.

This knife block looks great and seems to hold knives well. My one issue was that it needed to be assembled and that was not stated in description. It was a simple assembly in theory however there were No instructions or any warranty forms or any paperwork . It looked straightforward, however it was extremely difficult to screw the pieces together and we had to work at it for awhile, always fearful that too much pressure might crack the wood rendering the block useless and non returnable. $66.00 for 2 pieces of wood that we had to struggle to put together seemed like a lot.

So far so good! Just got this today and it looks great. The magnet is super strong for the entire surface of the block on the front and back, it’s built like a tank (does in fact weigh about 6 lbs), and the finish is of a high quality with no visible flaws or defects.Assembly, if I can call it that, is a breeze: just screwing the top vertical magnet portion to the base using three philips-head screws (4 of which are supplied, which is nice in case there’s a defect for one of them).We’ll see how this holds up over time, but so far it looks fantastic and holds a ton of knives with very little countertop footprint.

(Purchased in 2018, reviewed in 2021)The block looks great, it's even received compliments from guests I've had over, and the magnets are strong and hold all my knives, honing steel and scissors. However, after the first week I noticed some cracks that started developing. To me it's not a big deal, as that's just cosmetics and especially since you can't even see them once the knives are on. That said, after 3 years the crack seems to have gotten bigger and the one behind where I put the scissors has "outgrown" them so you can see it at all times now.Overall I'm still satisfied with my purchase and I'd recommend getting this block.

We’ve had our knife holder for a few days now and love it. Displays the knives beautifully and block was easy to assemble.You can place knives on either sides or both and they hold very well.Measurements are approximately 12” x 4” x 9.5” (length x width x height).The only small con is that the magnet block and the bottom block piece wobbles a tiny bit if you move it around (still sturdy that the knives are in place though), can probably be fixed with a little bit of glue. Happy with our purchase.
