Saving the world a la Cussler!
A great novel from Cusslerโs early career. Unbelievable, as always, but in a nice way. Dirk Pitt is his usual Bond-type self although I prefer his character in later books, once Clive really got to grips with his main man. Perhaps I would have liked more detail in the underwater exploits and less around-the-edge stories. Overall, a really good read which wonโt let anyone done.

Clive, you've done it again. Despite the fact that this book was written over 30 years ago it still manages to be as pertinent today as it was in 1978, and will remain so as long as there are terrorists out there. Dirk Pitt and his trusty sidekick, Al Giordino, get up to their usual hijinks and save the day as usual. For those of you who follow the Dirk Pitt novels this one is where you get to meet Congresswoman Loren Smith in greater detail. Have fun with this one...... you know you will.

Packaging tore the dust cover.
The book arrived a the condition as expected. However, the edges of the dust cover were folded up at the edges which tore the cover.

I picked the book because I liked the title
I recently bought a Clive Cussler book to read on my I-pad. I picked the book because I liked the title. It ended up being one of the "Fargo" adventures. I enjoyed it so much I bought more of Mr. Cussler's books, in doing so I discovered the NUMA series, Dirk Pitt and so many more. I started buying the actual books because while visiting my mom (she lives in an apt. Building for seniors)I found that several of the people in her building enjoy Mr. Cussler's books. I figured I could buy & read them & then set them out for everyone else to read them and pass them around.

A little worse for the wear
The book was sent quickly. The description said it was in good shape but I found it to be a little worse than that. No real complaint - it is a used book, after all. However, there was a bit more book dust (and a mite) than I expected, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.Needless to say, this didn't stop me from enjoying the read.

Classic Clive Cussled; credible plot, engaging story (cought out by history); passes a couple of hours on a train/plane
This was my first Clive Cussler novel - I bought the paperback at Birmingham New Street station 1979. Story set in 1988 around the South African struggle for majority rule, with a hangover from germ warfare in the early 1950s. Standard Clive Cussler plot - well-built, interesting characters, moments of what today's film censors seem to label as "mild threat", and as usual the novel draws from Clive Cussler's interest in water. This story is so much more coherent than those which dribbled out after Cussler seems to have outsourced the writing to Paul Kempikos (or whatever his name was). A similar comment applies to "Raise the Titanic"", where the story about raising the Titanic intact was ruined in 1985 when Bob Ballard found the wreckage in two huge chunks on the Atlantic floor."Vixen 03" is a classic Clive Cussler novel and is worth the cost of a download.Mike

Incredibly twisted tail, with a sting of a 100 scorpions. Brilliant.
An incredible tale that is so brilliantly conceived that there is no way of deducing the outcome until it's revealed in the final few pages. Absolute master stroke from Mr Cussler. Probably the best Adventure writer of all time.
