reliable 1U case, a bit proprietary
I like these little 1U cases. don't trust the pictures for the MoBo board connector layout, as this case comes with two jack panels in the box-- one mounted and another in plastic to swap if needed. Do note that they are not the universal rectangular opening, so you can' t just use any MoBo unless you are feeling good about your dremel (it's a shame, an Asus or MSI 1U would be a neat build) but pretty much have to stick with supermicro boards. Used with their passive cooler, Mobo pci riser, and drive caddy (if you want more than 1 HD), these make great appliances for SOHO file servers, routers, firewalls, etc.. They are limited on cooling, so consider the 1U limitations when planning that. The 3-fan case is actually 2 fans and a blank, which can be swapped for a third fan. Also, higher capacity fans are available, so if you size it right you can push the envelope some, just know they aren't as forgiving as "yer" typical gaming case. I've had one running for a couple of years with zero troubles and am adding another as well.
