Rear view ever camera
Camera was easy to install. Only hiccup was the power cord didn’t work but Furrion sent a new one out right away. I like the fact that it easily swapped out a rear marker light. I saw another review where someone said the small screen didn’t have the backup lines on the monitor. This is not true. You just need to turn them on in the preferences

FURRION FOS43TASR REAR OBSERVATION CAMERA
Purchased for use on our fifth wheel trailer so I can view behind the trailer while on the road traveling, as well as for backing the trailer into parking spaces. I liked this particular camera as it is combined with the a rear marker light on the trailer so it involves no extra holes to be cut into the trailer for wiring. Remove the originally installed center, top marker light assembly, cut the wires and attach them to the wires on the Furrion light/camera assembly. Screw the unit onto the trailer. Attachment screws were not included. I wish they had been as they must have a fairly small head on the screw to fit into the new assembly. Standard screws from the hardware store would not fit due to the head diameter being too large. Mounting does require some new screw holes to be made into the trailer to attach the unit but the old holes are covered up by the new rubber gasket assembly. I was not able to get the three to four bars of signal strength that the instructions recommended. I tried moving the assembly higher, even though I could not mount it higher on the trailer. The best I could get was two steady bars with an occasional third bar. My trailer is 32 feet long and the camera is about 37 feet from the monitor. I have the monitor as high as I can place it on the windshield with the antenna vertical. Pairing of the monitor to the camera happened automatically, once I powered up the camera and the monitor. We have now towed the trailer 753 miles with the camera installed. Signal strength shows one bar most of the time while driving. The view on the monitor has never quit while driving, although it is a little choppy at times. We were generally traveling at speeds of 65 to 70 MPH. It was overcast much of the miles driven and I drive with sun glasses. I found that I needed to adjust the monitor to full brightness otherwise the view of the road behind the trailer was somewhat dark. In my opinion it would be easier to adjust the monitor if the adjustment buttons were on the front of the monitor, instead of on the sides. I had my wife adjusting the monitor as I didn’t have the buttons memorized so that I could make adjustments while driving.Overall I think the rear observation camera system is a worthwhile addition to have while traveling. This unit is pricier than many others out there but ease of installation, based on wiring in my trailer, made this system preferable for me. I was somewhat surprised that I didn’t have better signal strength.Just over a year later, while out west a couple of weeks ago, we came back into the vehicle after a short hike and the monitor was laying on the top of the dash board. The window mount came apart. Part of it was on the dash and part on the floor. The plastic piece that holds the clear window suction cup to the mount broke. It was in the low 90s outside the vehicle and the inside was probably in the low 100s. I suspect the heat affected the strength of the plastic. I would have thought the mount would be more substantial that it apparently is. Of course it's past the one year warranty so I'll see if there is some way to epoxy this back together.

Works as Advertised
I purchased this for my fifth wheel travel trailer. It fit perfectly among the existing clearance lights at the top of the rear of the trailer. Reception in the cab of the tow vehicle is excellent. This camera greatly enhances my ability to back up the trailer quickly and accurately. I have yet to try it out on the highway, but hope to do so soon. This camera is, however, very pricey. I purchased the Furrion brand on the recommendation of my RV dealer. Hopefully it will continue to impress me.

Does NOT fit Sharkfin mount
Great video quality and clear reception to the monitor! Arrived very quickly. Important to note that this unit will not install on the Sharkfin mount that was on my trailer. It doesn’t have the wiring plug, either. That being said, I made my own mounting bracket from thin flat steel and with some measuring and drilling and wiring into the trailer lights have an extremely firm mount on the rear of my Toy Hauler. I just felt that the trailer aluminum was too thin for a secure mount so I screwed the plate onto the underlying wood frame member and riveted through the steel and trailer aluminum. End crimp connections on wire splicing and all wiring shrouded. Definitely NOT plug-n-play but a great system nonetheless.

Good camera, fills existing marker light spot
I am overall pleased with this unit. I added it to my RV. I got this particular model because I didn't want to have to drill any new holes. It was great for that. I took a star off my rating because I thought that the 4.3" unit came with rear assist marker lines, but it does not. I guess that this is only a feature on the 5" and 7" models. I would have like to know that before I purchased mine. I think I would have gotten those models instead.

Poor connection
I have a 20ft trailer and if you get longer than that you may find it doesnt work at all for you. For me there is a definite lag in the feedback from the camera to the receiver. Sometimes the connection cuts out entirely. When it works it works great.

This thing didn’t even last 2 years.
This thing didn’t even last 2 years. The unit keeps cutting in and out and will not pair. I switched lights to LED, brought the camera to the back just 2 feet away and it continues to cut out. Very disappointed.Screen is too small I would suggest getting a larger one

The system is not compatible with all Furrion pre-wired systems.
We were going to use this product on our 2018 Grande Design Imagine 2150 trailer. From the review we saw, it seemed this model would just plug into our existing pre-wire. However, it required cutting existing wires and splicing. We chose not to do that. We returned this item and ordered a different model that hopefully will work for us.
