The camera is good, the software is overly arcane
This works well, and fits my Amscope binocular scope perfectly. It has decent resolution, and once I got the hang of it, is easy to use. No more holding my phone camera up to a lens to capture an image! (But I do really miss how easy that was to do.) But, why three stars? Well, this absolutely isn't "plug and play!" You have to download software to use it, and somehow, the process and the software itself make me feel like I'm back in the mid 80's. What should be very straightforward is very convoluted. I'm on a Mac, but this realy reminds me of a DOS app that has been ported over.

Quality optics and feature-rich software
My interest in microscopes is not scientific or research-related. Like many people, I just like taking a close-up look at things. As a photographer, I take that a step further by capturing those fascinating views to share with others. My trinocular scope did not come with a camera. I bought an adapter so I could hook my DSLR camera to it, but ultimately didnโt use it all that much. Just using it for viewing kept me more than occupied, and swapping the bulky camera on and off the scope was becoming a nuisance. I kept my eyes open for a true microscope camera, and found this one from AmScope to be impressive. With it, I was quickly able to lay my biggest concern to rest: How well it would hold up against the DSLR in terms of image quality. While the 3456x5184 resolution of my DSLR would seem to offer better results than the 1920x1080 res of the scope, the higher res can become overkill considering the optical limitations of the microscope, to say nothing of ultimately and most-typically viewing the image on a computer monitor. Also, for video, the need for a higher frame rate might outweigh the importance of resolution (features 15fps @ 1280x1024, 26fps @ 640x512, 50fps @ 320x256). I found images captured with the AmScope cam and my DSLR to be virtually indistinguishable in terms of overall quality, and far exceeding the uses I will make of the scope. Any shortcomings for either are easy to correct, thanks to the AmScope, model-specific camera software free download. It is very thorough, providing all the options and controls typically included with high-quality photo and video editing software and other features, such as a calibration kit that offers precise measurements, notations and more; along with comparisons, histograms, image-stitching and extended depth-of-focus (EDF), e.g. I havenโt found a way to pair the camera with the Windows Camera app as an option to the software. It doesnโt seem to be in the cards, which may be disappointing for those seeking a more lightweight user experience. Comes with a 23mm C-mount adapter and a 30mm and 30.5mm mounting adapter; a measurement calibration slide; lens caps; a six-foot USB cable; and camera software download instructions (a CD was not included).

Pretty good value...
Works as advertised. In my case, I already had the AmScope software installed and the camera was automatically recognized. The picture quality is just OK--the upshot is that the framerate is pretty good even over USB 2.0. I got about 15fps with my light source at its brightest. The attached image is through my ME580 with a 10X plan objective... There is some noticeable loss in features in the image vs. my 8 or 20MP cameras. The value is OK, but if you can afford it, I would recommend bumping up to 8 or so MP especially if you use lower magnifications...

The quality of the pictures is great

Mine does not wrk with MACOS
I bought the MU300 a white back and AMscope continues to come out with new Mac software every year, but none of these apps will show the view of the camera - just a grey screen. No helpful support whatsoever. Why do they churn out MAC software??? SOLVE IT.

The trinocular port camera adapter was/is missing from my microscope.
I can't attach the two Amscope devices to each other. I have had many emails back and forth with their Customer Service people, and despite the photos and details offered, nothing works. Very, very disappointing and terrible customer service.

Great addition!
This is a great addition to my microscope. It lets others view at the same time, and the floaters in my eyes don't interfere. Floaters really bother me at my age, so this makes exploring the microscopic world a lot easier. The installation was trivial on the AmScope T390B. Likewise, the software was downloaded and installed without a hitch. The software, while not the subject of this review, feels top-notch and makes gathering images and video. AmScope has higher end cameras, but I'm finding the value of this 1.3MP camera, which is natively 1280x1024, but saves images at 1980x1080. Don't know how they're accomplishing that. See attached photos. Anyway, a great addition. 100% recommended.
